Help with Bant Control

Hello! I've recently decided to build a Rubinia Soulsinger Bant Control EDH deck - Take up the Quill... - , and I'm looking for some feedback. Some info about the deck:

• I want to do most of my interacting at instant speed, so I would like to minimize my sorcery-speed interaction.
• I know my land base is far from perfect, but please refrain from telling me that I need to add Misty Rainforest, filter lands, etc.
• This is meant to be a control deck, but not a hard control deck. I don't want to try to counter everything, but I do want a significant number of counterspells. Right now, I have seven, which feels slightly too low.
• My maximum budget for additions at this point is $50, so yeah.
