It's trimmed down...Now to make it better.

Commander Deck Help forum

My deck is called Faster Than You Can Blink and it needs something. I've changed this deck around quite a bit. It used to be only Orzhov flickering/blinking, but I decided to add in some green for a little more flavor and a more secure win. Then, I changed it to Bant because, let's face it, blue always has better stuff. I've finally trimmed the deck down and finalized the colors (too bad there aren't any 4 color commanders...). As always I'd love some suggestions! Any big game winner cards that are must-have's for a Bant Blink deck that I don't currently have in here would be great!

Sylvan Primordial is banned in Commander. Also, Abzan Blinking? Not a fan of that Idea. Doran is an awesoem commander, but he wants to do many things, and blinking isn't one of them. Why not go with Bant (Roon of the Hidden Realm) or Azorius (Brago, King Eternal)?

Don't let people dissuade you so easily, Abzan blinking can certainly be a thing. What happens is that with the addition of black you have to focus as well on repeatable reanimation engines to get ETB effects out of your graveyard. Cards like Mimic Vat can get you an ETB effect of a dead creature every turn, as can Coffin Queen, Dawn of the Dead, and Corpse Dance if you pair them with a sac outlet (Ashnod's Altar, Altar of Dementia).

Doran probably isn't the best commander though. Karador, Ghost Chieftain would let you get back creatures even if you don't have a reanimation engine.

Lastly you want to limit your amount of single use blink. Single use anything is weak in commander. Cards like Cloudshift, Glimmerpoint Stag, and Flickerwisp should be kept to minimum in favor of things you can use over and over.

Recurring Nightmare is also quite good.

A reasonable Turn 3 Ulamog or Worldspine Wurm seems like a fair enough reason to ban that card :D

suislecalme no the real reason why that card was banned was a t3 Storm Crow. you practically won the game once that hit.

Actually it's banned more because it's impossible to answer without counterspells. It can dodge removal effortlessly. It gets used with power ETB/LTB effects and some reusable sac creature like Reassembling Skeleton. There's a couple of ways to get a Worldspine Wurm on like turn 4, and it's crazy, but not nearly the worst thing you could use with it.

But if you want something that goes somewhat like the dream, I'd go for one of these Birthing Pod, Survival of the Fittest, Evolutionary Leap or Fauna Shaman. I know, none of these is actually close, but it's probably the closest you get.
