Grand Arbiter Control Help

Commander Deck Help forum

So I have been working on a GAAIV list now for I can't tell you how long. For some reason I cannot settle on a list that seems "good enough" for me. I initially thought about going the Enchantress route but I have done that before and it didn't end well for me. Then I went for a mostly Counterspell style build. That didn't work either. Currently I am in the middle of the two with more Artifacts than Enchantments. But it doesn't feel right still and I struggle to keep the board under control and have only won once. My meta is reasonably competitive with the only rule of there being no Infinite Combos. i.e. Palinchron and Navigator and the like.

The Commanders in our group currently include: Daretti, Scrap Savant, The Scarab God, Omnath, Locus of Mana, Omnath, Locus of Rage, Ramos, Dragon Engine, Chainer, Dementia Master, Phenax, God of Deception, Alesha, Who Smiles at Death, Animar, Soul of Elements, The Locust God, Breya, Etherium Shaper, Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind, Karlov of the Ghost Council, and Edgar Markov.

This is my work in progress deck. Please help.

which deck(s) win the most often? that will largely affect how you build your deck

Yeah I know, I just like to be prepared for any sort of challenge that arises. Adaptability has always been important to me. And I would say Chainer, and Daretti and probs both Omnaths win most often.

Drop the rule about no infinite combos. Then GAAIV will be much better. The build that best suites him is control combo. Anything else is too slow and you spend too many card slots trying to control the board, leaving you not enough for a proper win condition.

That or go full ham and dro pcontrol almost completely. instead use the cost reduction that he offers to play a high tide storm deck. As I said, full ham.

But a general rule, for decks of about the same power level, control beats is generally a bad idea.

IF YOU want to win against them you surely need stax piece, control and as he said a combo or approach of the second sun as a second win con
