Godsend v. Heartseeker v. Argentum Armor

Commander Deck Help forum

Hey, so I have a mono white deck running Puresteel Paladin and Stonehewer Giant. I tested it out some this week and noticed I need more removal just in general against creatures. I'd like to use one of the following: Godsend, Argentum Armor or Heartseeker. Each has its positive points and I'm having a hard time choosing. Atm I'm leaning towards heartseeker due to my deck having a good amount of token generation and it pairs the best with Puresteel Paladin. Any thoughts on which is best in this scenario?

The real question is how likely do you think you'll want a combat trigger. Argentum Armor's +6/+6 is huge in combat steps, while Heartseeker's +2/+1 is anticlimactic and can only target creatures, but makes up for it with an ability you can activate whenever.

For my money, Argentum Armor's ability to hit troublesome enchantments, artifacts, or lands puts it over the top in general. That said, you could make an infinite combo with Aphetto Alchemist+Illusionist's Bracers+Brass Squire with Heartseeker to completely clear the board of non-hexproof, non-indestructible creatures.

Godsend is definitely the weakest of the three. It's a powerful card, but it's not meant for singleton formats.

I do aggree with the guy above.

I just want you to consider: How often do you get out the Puresteel Paladin?

Heartseeker makes for a totally amazing boardwipe with the paladin, being able to wipe out all of your opponents creatures. If you got a reliable way to search up the paladin, go for the Seeker. If not, this card is not really good at all.

Thanks for the feedback, unfortunately Puresteel Paladin isn't searchable with either Thalia's Lancers or Ranger of Eos the only white creature tutors I'm aware of. I'll try Argentum and see how it goes, I just wish the Paladin went better with it. Thanks again!

Also, I think Godsend is underestimated in this format. I mean it's a awesome defensive rattlesnake and though it's second ability isn't relevant in edh, it essentially functions the exact same and the devotion is always nice. I may end up dropping the Paladin for it im thinking, it fits the mono white mentality of "if you attack me, it'll cost you" I think. Anyway just my thoughts on it.

Recruiter of the Guard can tutor up puresteel. I definitely think Heartseeker if the better choice for not having to rely on combat to remove the opposing creature

Not to throw in a random card, but I think Quietus Spike is better than both Heartseeker and Godsend in EDH. Half an opponent's LP from one touch? Yes please!

Wow Recruiter of the Guard is really really good, thanks for the tip.

Quietus Spike is good for sneaking into play with Stonehewer Giant for sure, but the deck really focuses on durdling until finding an infinite mana combos and over running with tokens so it might not fit but I'll consider it.
