I've recently started to play mtg for friends and husband and I build my first standard deck yesterday but I'm a lot more interested in edh and I'd like some help to build my first one.

I've been browsing in edhrec and I decided to go for mono- and now I'm stuck with 2 generals and I can't decide which one I'd like to play.

Yawgmoth, Thran Physician And K'rrik, Son of Yawgmoth

They both look super interesting but I don't know which one would be better than the other.

K'rrik, Son of Yawgmoth is generally considered to be ridiculously over powered due to his ability to cheat mana costs. A lot of the cards run with him will have 3 to 4 black pips. You end up paying a lot of life most games but you get to play some nutty things way too fast.

Yawgmoth, Thran Physician is a slower paced and more controlling deck. Likely to have more consistency too. Card draw on your commander should never be overlooked. Protection from humans is also surprisingly powerful. Humans are just one of those types that show up everywhere and people forget about that part of the card a lot. So you want to be keeping an eye out for them hummies to block or swing into. If you run infect his proliferate can also just win a game out of nowhere...

Whichever you decide on you should go ahead and put the other in the 99, they work well together.

The "son" is more about life-gain. You cheat mana costs and in return, you have to gain life in order to keep doing so. The "father" uses an aristocrat style where you sacrifice creatures in order to draw, put -1/-1 counters; Also you have the proliferate part. They are both super interesting. It's all about what you are looking for in a deck and which playstyle you are more accustomed to. Personally, i like yawg more because i like control decks and k'rrick tends so be an all or nothing strategy sometimes.
