EDH Mill/Control (Esper) Merike

Commander Deck Help forum

I wanted to try and build an effective mill deck for the EDH format sans Traumatize. I've tried the creatures with mill abilities and found them to be too slow to get the job done.

My current build runs off a lot of control using Merieke Ri Berit as the general and Keening Stone as the primary mill mechanism.

I also use Kismet, Blind Obedience, and Thalia, Heretic Cathar to control the pace of the game.

Merieke, Grist for the Malady Mill

Any advice on cuts/substitutions/inclusions would be greatly appreciated...

It looks like you're a bout 3-4 lands heavy. You're running Sphinx's Tutelage and no way for people to draw cards, like Jace Beleren, Temple Bell, Howling Mine. All this extra card draw would help you too. Glimpse the Unthinkable is a really great mill card and should be in your deck. Idyllic Tutor. The deck seems like its trying to do too many things at once, it needs to be a little more streamlined, focus more on two things.

Have you thought about Phenax god of deception, he combos with eater of the dead for a potential infinite mill, also oona queen of the fey is a great card.
