This deck is made with walkers in mind, though it does need support in addition. Please give me some feedback for ideas please, if you wish...

Ral Zarek (Taps & Untaps permanents at one time, burns, & can net a lot of turns via Oath of Teferi & Rings of Brighthearth.)

Samut, the Tested (Gives a token Double Strike, Deals Damage (Good with Humility.), & can search for 2 walkers. Works good with Doubling Season & Deepglow Skate.)

Ajani, Wise Counselor (Gains life, Buffs, & Uber Buffs a creature of your choice.)

Daretti, Ingenious Iconoclast (Creates Tokens & replicates Artifacts, even from the grave.)

Jace, Architect of Thought (Can halt an opponent alongside Humility.)

Jace, Memory Adept (Can draw, Mill, & draw a lot.)

Nissa, Voice of Zendikar (Creates Tokens, Buffs them, & allows mass Life Gain & Card Draw equal to the number of lands you control.)

Ob Nixilis Reignited (Can do a Phyrexian Arena, Murder, and forces an Opponent to lose life when anyone draws.)

Sarkhan Unbroken (Draws while giving you mana, & can give you a Dragon Token.)

Phyrexian Arena (Superfriends staple. No other reason to put it in needed.)

Rhystic Study (See Phyrexian Arena.)

Counterflux (Can't be Countered, & can be Overloaded for an additional generous colorless mana.)

Cryptic Command (Multi Mode Counterspell that Multi Taps, does Card Draw & can even bounce an opponent to its owners hand.

There are several others, but they have yet to get past TappedOut's security or whatnot.

Goals:

  1. Add basic lands to counter land destruction.

  2. Update Walkerbase

  3. Wait For Core 2019's Pre Orders

  4. Find a better 5 color Legendary tailor made for walkers.

I hope these ideas are of some help for what I want to see for my deck, as I'm revising it. Any suggestions I missed out? What to replace for even some of these? Let me know, as I am taking this deck to a new direction; using walkers as the base strategy. Hope this helps! ^-^

Maybe you guys have ideas? Thanks so much for this. 0-^

Well, any ideas? This deck does need a massive overhaul you know... Oi, cdkime. I don't suppose you could be of some assistance again, or are you sick of helping? Don't fret; I'm just asking... ;)

Well... What should I cut? I don't expect all these to make it you know... :/

@Catalog9000: Good combo, but I also have 4 confirmed combos for Rowan Kenrith; still trying to find more. Anyways, I'd use Jace, Architect of Thought over that Jace anyway. Beside, this diresction if made with walkers in mind. Samut, the Tested seems more like creature fodder... Thanks anyways though! ^_^

Planeswalker type limit raised to 3.

Actually...

Planeswalker Limit Raised to 4.

I'll consider Jace, Memory Adept, though because I'm using tokens for creatures, not sure about Samut, the Tested...

Time to find more combos...

BMHKain says... #6

Any other ideas? I'd like at least some of these in my deck, please. I hope this isn't too much...

DrkNinja says... #7

As I've stated before Walker decks are about constant value, and creating a value engine, not about comboing out. The biggest "combo" in a Walker deck should be Walker + Deepglow Skate/Doubling Season. And the reason you've gotten no one to answer you, is because yet again Rowan Kenrith is BAD in walkers period.

Now please stop tagging me. I'm done with this. Don't make me have to block you.

June 19, 2018 10:26 a.m.

BMHKain says... #8

Very well. Rowan Kenrith is indefinitely rémoved. Though I'd like some advice after such shenanigans done wrong...

I looked over your deck and this post, and am not sure I have anything to add that I and others have not already said. You are still a bit too focused on the power level of the individual walkers, not the overall power level of a deck. What you have is a bunch of planeswalkers that are a bit all over the place, not optimized in any given strategy. You can do a lot of different things--just not any of them as well as they could be done.

To provide some feedback based on your thread:

  • Kaya, Ghost Assassin - little synergy with the rest of your deck. The life drain is insignificant.

  • Saheeli Rai - her +1 is insignificant--scry without card draw is mediocre, and pinging each opponent for 1 means nothing, particularly in a 40-life format.

  • Nicol Bolas, the Ravager  Flip - I can think of one pretty good reason not to run him--he's a terrible card for this deck. His enter the battlefield ability allows players to dump their worst card/unnecessary land, and you don't have enough blink effects to abuse the card. The abilities on the planeswalker form are pretty impressive, but is a lot, even if you can spread it across two turns.

Very well. Removing those options... I'll see if anyone else has an opinion on this as well; I'm trying to make a cEDH deck for the new Chromium, though I got slammed by someone... X/

BMHKain says... #11

But in any case, If 30+ walkers with support for them isn't enough, any other non-Walker suggestions to back them up? I did state Walkers don't have to be the only option for this deck in the starting comment. ;)

Any other ideas? I just started my Okaun, Eye of Chaos & Zndrsplt, Eye of Wisdom project if you have any suggestions...

Or maybe I should do Homunculi Tribal for laughs? PX

June 20, 2018 11:46 a.m.

BMHKain says... #13

So... Any suggestions? I already have all the walkers noted to obtain (Besides the new Ugin...), so, anything else to help them? I want to use their abilities, but I think this deck needs support for those walkers as well. Any ideas? Just asking...

June 20, 2018 1:51 p.m.

BMHKain says... #14

Okay... No Ugin... Do you guys have any suggestions on what to cut for what's above, though? & I'd like your opinion on what else to cut, cdkime, please. If you still want to do this... :/

June 21, 2018 10:03 a.m.

Caerwyn says... #15

Rather than tell you what to cut, let's try something new. So far, you've received lots of suggestions on which cards to cut, and, more importantly, why they should be cut from your deck.

It's time to take the next step, and apply the lessons I and other posters have given you. Go over your deck with a fine-toothed comb, use the playtest feature a couple times (playing both your deck and the opponent decks), and then compile a list of the cards you want to cut, and why you think each card should be cut. I'll then evaluate your list.

There are some general themes in the feedback you've received thus far, so keep these points in mind:

  • The power level of the individual card.
  • The power level of the card relative to the rest of your deck.
  • The mana cost of the card.
  • Interactions between that card and other cards in the deck.
  • Synergy of that card with the deck's primary and secondary goals.
  • Whether you have too few or too many of the particular effect that card provides.
  • If there is some other fun/personal/flavour reason you want to keep the card.
  • Any meta-specific considerations.
  • Cost, if that is of issue.

I think this exercise will help you become a better deckbuilder, and be less reliant on others moving forward.

DrkNinja says... #16

Why in the hell would you not play Ugin? He's so good. Wait- are we talking about in your Eye deck?

June 21, 2018 10:16 a.m.

Caerwyn says... #17

DrkNinja - it's a bit hard to track as BMHKain has a habit of spreading the same conversation over multiple decks and forum posts, but I believe he or she is referring to no new Ugin being spoiled in Core 2019 (that was a topic of conversation on a thread about Chromium).

June 21, 2018 10:22 a.m.

BMHKain says... #18

@DrkNinja: Apparently, according to Maro (Whoever that is...), there won't be a new Ugin for Core 2019. That's what I meant. If you wish, since Walkers can't act on their own, perhaps some support for them could be suggested? I already am aware they can't act on their own... & If so, what should I cut?

Maro is short for Mark Rosewater, head designer of MTG. He is extremely involved with the fan base, often answering questions on Twitter (usually to espouse he sanctity of the colour pie), and publishes a very entertaining MTG comic called Tales from the Pit.

Oh. Alright. Currently studying a post of yours BTW...

I'll leave it at that.

June 21, 2018 10:49 a.m.

BMHKain says... #22

Actually, one last thing, cdkime. Since you suggested I play test this Deck here, what are the best choices for decks to play against, & what, in your opinion, is the best variety for all playstyles for this format? That, & I want some kind of difficulty increase as a result. ;)

June 22, 2018 10:28 a.m.

Caerwyn says... #23

You should choose decks that are relevant to your particular meta--a fact I cannot help you with.

However, as a basic starting point, you should test your deck against as many different playstyles as possible. Stax, Voltron, Combo, Superfriends, tokens, large creatures, etc. Considering the pricetag of your deck, you should test it against the best of the best. If you are going to run over $5,000.00 worth of cards, you should probably make sure it can compete with similarly situated decks.

To start, look at [List - Multiplayer] EDH Generals by Tier. The decklists linked are extremely well optimized decks for the given commander.

June 22, 2018 10:56 a.m.

BMHKain says... #24

I see. Well, those decks are mainly for the standard of cEDH. If I'm going to play it safe, I'll probably start at Tier 3 as that's the lowest rank for a commander of the sub format of such a type, though I'll have some disadvantages as a result.

Remember that, cdkime. ;)

June 22, 2018 11:24 a.m.

BMHKain says... #25

Also, how do I even play test against those decks? I'm trying to do one against a Tier 3 Kaalia of the Vast deck, but all it does is play by itself... Any help on this, cdkime? I'm sewing your advice in mind, but I dunno how... X/

June 22, 2018 12:57 p.m.

Caerwyn says... #26

You open multiple decks, you hit the "Playtest" button one each deck, you play as if you controlled each deck, being sure to partisan your thinking such that you do not let cards in Deck A's hidden zones influence your Deck B decisions.

BMHKain says... #27

I'll see what intelligence can do from here, but does this mean I have to copy decks, or lackthereof?

June 22, 2018 1:04 p.m.

BMHKain says... #28

Also, I am finally loving a new Tezzeret; Tezzeret, Artifice Master. But enough derailing this...

June 22, 2018 1:08 p.m.

Caerwyn says... #29

You do not need to copy the deck--you can use the playtest feature on any public deck, including ones you do not own. This feature is pretty useful if you want to give others feedback on how their decks function, as you can fiddle around with it some.

Also, at the risk of coming off as a Grammar Nazi (which I would not generally do, but I seem to be giving such a wide range of advice, might as well toss in "writing" as well), that's not how you use "lack thereof" (two words, not one). That term is used to refer to something that does not exist, usually in a context where it does not matter whether or not the quantified item exists. A proper example might read "Your client's adulterous relationships, or lack thereof, are relevant to the present issues before the Court."

June 22, 2018 1:24 p.m.

BMHKain says... #30

Oh. Well, I got both links open so, I'll see if this works...

Anyways, the typo was a joke, but sure. I'll see what I can do.

(Many Cards to cut; I wonder which ones after all this...)

Just give me 1 & 1/2 days to test this...

June 22, 2018 1:35 p.m.

BMHKain says... #31

Just play tested both decks at the same time. Doesn't seem to be working as if I'm playing 2 separate servers... Any other advice for this predicament? I think one more piece of advice should do it, cdkime...

June 22, 2018 1:45 p.m.

Caerwyn says... #32

You use two different windows or tabs and switch between the two.

June 22, 2018 1:52 p.m.

BMHKain says... #33

Then how does one play instant speed spells? Ending a turn just resets the mana pool for the next turn, even if I switch positions... X/

I feel bad for wasting your time...

June 22, 2018 2:01 p.m.

Caerwyn says... #34

Are you hitting "Next turn" whenever you want to end a turn? That's not how it works. You hit Next Turn when you want to start a new turn, not pass to other player. All you need to do is switch windows when you end a turn, then change back to the window if you want to cast an instant spell.

June 22, 2018 2:15 p.m.

BMHKain says... #35

Just played Imperial Seal. How does one do the following:

Search Library/Graveyard, put a card from your hand to library, play instant speed stuff, tap for mana (I used Mana Confluence.), basically, everything; this is my first time testing this, cdkime. I'm in the abyss for this...

June 22, 2018 2:15 p.m.

BMHKain says... #36

Ninja'd as hell... X/

June 22, 2018 2:17 p.m.

BMHKain says... #37

Um, can anyone read post 36, please? It addresses effects of cards...

June 22, 2018 2:30 p.m.

Caerwyn says... #38

It's really, really foolproof. Play around with it some, and you'll get the hang of it quite quickly.

Click a card in your hand to put it onto the battlefield. Click a card on the battlefield to tap it (you have to keep track of your mana pool yourself--it's not MTG online after all). Drag cards from your graveyard to the zone you want it in. Use the very, very, very clearly labeled buttons on the side ("Tutor Card" drop down menu, draw card, mulligan, etc.). Use the very clearly labeled drop down menus at the top. There's a very hand shortcuts button.

Frankly, I think that's more than a sufficient set of instructions. If you're still having trouble, keep fiddling with it--I'm sure you'll be able to figure it out on your own.

June 22, 2018 2:36 p.m.

BMHKain says... #39

Thanks. I'll get to work once I get to a legitimate Computer (I'm on a smartphone.)...
