I have the possibility of buying one of these 2 decks and I have no ideas which one (the guy told me 40$ for either one of them) but its just so hard to pick one

Out of these 2 deck which one should I go with (now just to be clear I want the one with the most potential of winning like it is because I cant buy card to upgrade them for now so I need to pick the best one)

How good are you at commander? What strategies do you prefer? What's your local meta like, as in, what kind of decks do the people you are likely to play against play?

It's sort of hard to suggest a deck to someone without knowing what they like, or what kind of decks they will be playing against.

For $40 though, I would suggest you find one of the new 4 colour decks if you're not too new. 4 colours can be hard to master, but the C16 decks are very good. More so the Atraxa, Praetors' Voice deck and Yidris, Maelstrom Wielder. These 2 are quite competitive, and can be upgraded to pilot tier one decks. Otherwise, if you like a slow, pillow forty / group hug game, the Kynaios and Tiro of Meletis deck would be good, and doesn't paint a giant target on your forehead. Haha.

Ok. If you really have to choose between the R/W and B/W decks, I'd say the B/W deck is probably better. You have some built in protection with cards like Ghostly Prison, and Sphere of Safety, and black is a very good colour for EDH in general (no pun intended). You have access to the best removal and tutors. Even a super budget tutor like Diabolic Tutor is a good addition to a black deck. Of course, it's no Demonic Tutor, or Rune-Scarred Demon.

R/W has a very known weakness. Board wipes Wrath of God, Damnation, even a kicked Cyclonic Rift totally ruin you. R/W is a colour combo that needs to win early. There's no real long game strategy. R/W decks can be fun, especially if you are going to be playing a lot of 1V1 games, but if you will be playing mostly 3, 4, or 5 player games, avoid it... There's a reason the red heavy commander decks don't sell very well.

If you want to play R/W, you really need B for a reanimation strategy, or U for protection. At least, that has been my experience.

How about this:

Instead of buying a deck someone else buit, use edhrec.com to find a commander you like (they have them sorted by color), press "Average Deck", and drop all the cards above your budget and replace them with other cards on that commander's page (each card has its price in the bottom left corner).

And bam, you built a commander deck without having to spend more than ten minutes.

The commander pre-construction are good if you have little deck building experience, and/or have little or no cards on hand. Otherwise, I agree that building a deck by using the edhrec method mention is prob the most efficient in terms of time and money.

Of those two decks, the black/white one has more upside. But I did not enjoy either out of the box. These are prob my least favorite out of the box of all the preconstructs. I even liked all the 5 mono colors out of the box better, except maybe the blue one.

The three colors ones were all good out of box, and the new 4 color ones are too. Prob check out your local Walmart or target to see what decks they have. (Most have a section up front by registers). My local Walmart still had some of the 3 colored decks last time I looked (a month or so ago).

I'd go with Daxos. He is a really fun commander. I built him reluctantly a while ago and the deck turned into one of my favorites.

Just play a ton of defensive enchantments that make people not want to pick on you and then start pumping out a steady stream of big beaters.

If you want an idea of a fairly tuned Daxos list check mine out, could give you some ideas-

Honestly of those two, I really like the RW. Gisela, Blade of Selves, Sword of the Animist are pretty good in commander. You might have to invest in a Mind's Eye and possibly some mana rocks to move things along but the deck is fun. The nice thing about the colors is that a lot of cards that could fit are actually pretty budget since people don't play a lot of boros.

The honest truth though is Rakdos does just about everything Boros does but better. Orzhov I have tried a lot, but I always find I feel obligated to add a color for mardu or esper to enjoy it. The Daxos deck is ok, but Daxos is really slow and I honestly think a tuned Heliod, God of the Sun is very similar and almost always going to be better. Just my opinion though.

Already got the daxos one and it's doing pretty well with a few board destroyer can cast 4 6/6 spirit in 1 turn and with all the +1/+1 +2/+2 enchantment it's really opp
