So I'm putting together my first colorless edh, what are some tips/essentials for both construction and play? No list up yet but it's led by new koz.

Thanks for any input.

Mana rocks and card draw.

Did you decided who'll be your commandant?

Karn, Silver Golem? Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger? Kozilek, the Great Distortion? Emrakul, the Aeons Torn? (Isn't it banned?)

If it's Kozilek, the Great Distortion, you'll surely need a powerful ramping with mana rocks (Sol Ring, Thran Dynamo, Mana Vault, Gilded Lotus etc) and lands which give you some extra mana and bonuses (Temple of the False God, Shrine of the Forsaken Gods, Eye of Ugin etc).

I saw a friend of mine using Wastes because of the high incidence of Tectonic Edges and Ghost Quarters in our local metagame, sided of artifacts (Metalworker, Karn, Silver Golem, the Monolyths, Myrs etc), I'm sure there are decks on tappedout.net which can give you some hints on what to use on your deck.

And, prepare for the salt. Kozilek is a gamebreaking card.

My opinion, Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre is a more potent commander. The indestructibility on its own makes him better. The problem I see with Kozilek, the Great Distortion is the fact you have to discard the Exact CMC card as the one you wish to counter. And since CMC's range from 0 to 15, it's rather lucky at best to get to counter something.

If you absolutely must have him as your commander, then Library of Leng will be required in the deck.
