Built a Pauper EDH* deck recently centered around shooting down my opponents and their creatures with my army of gunners:

It is really fun to pilot and has its fair share of successes, both in 1v1 and multiplayer formats.

Here's the question:

Should I add in some Bounce Shenanigans (e.g. Banishing Knack , Retraction Helix ) that synergise well with my untappers like Horseshoe Crab ?

They can turn my untappers into "walking cyclonic rift" and also be used to help save my key creatures from targeted removal. But are they necessary or just "Win More" cards?

Looking to tap on the collective wisdom of the community. Any comments, suggestions, feedback and/or upvotes are welcomed. Thanks!

* Pauper EDH is a format where the Commander can be any uncommon creature (need not be legendary) and the deck comprises of 99 commons.

I'm not sure on this one. You might be trying to get to cute by half here. I can see the usefulness of it, but you have to determine what you cut to fit them in, and if they are worth the effort in the end. With this being pauper, its going to be pretty mana-intensive to bounce several creatures, but it might be worth it. You have to figure out if what you cut is central to what the deck does, and if you're willing to cut those things to add this effect.

You've got several creatures with deathtouch, which kills creatures, which is better than bouncing. So what I guess what I'm getting at is if you have come up with another idea that will be central to making the deck work, or will it be situational at best, or hinder the focus of your deck at worst.

bushido_man96 Thanks for the comments. You're spot on here!

Been mulling over this for awhile so thought I hear what the community has to says.

The Deathtouch pingers tend to stick around until they're removed but the Bounce Shenanigans, being instants, are once off effects.

Like you said, adding Bounce doesn't quite advance my game plan (this deck wins via combo majority of the time). So it's more of a defensive mechanism to buy me a few turns when push comes to shove.

Being able to target any nonland permanents does make their application wider.

As you rightly pointed out, what to cut will be another headache as space is already very tight and each spot is highly contested.

Decisions... Decisions... Decisions...
