Palinchron + Teferi, Mage of Zhalfir is better then Palinchron + Deadeye Navigator as it doesn't allow them to interact at all with the combo once Tooth and Nail has resolved, you can the tutor up Phantasmal Image / Deadeye Navigator and go infinite

EmblemMan - That interactions requires something such as Concordant Crossroads to give the tokens haste

It depends on your board state or what's in your hand. Sure you can get Deadeye and Palinchron, but if you have nothing to use infinite mana/flicker with its useless.

Craterhoof Behemoth and Avenger without a haste enabler won't do much good.

My suggestion would be Palinchron + Rune-Scarred Demon . Then tutor for Deadeye Navigator and play him. Now you have infinite mana and can tutor your whole library. This pair, if uninterrupted, guarantees a victory.

Raging_Squiggle ooooh I like that! Tutoring your whole library is much much much cooler than drawing your whole library, and drawing your library is pretty neat :). Also, Eureka means i can tutor my whole library, then play my whole library. Now we talking :D

Myojin of Life's Web + Prime Speaker Zegana or Myojin of Seeing Winds - Draw a ton of cards and put all the creatures from your hand into play.

Nath of the Gilt-Leaf + Myojin of Night's Reach - Opponents discard all cards and you get a bunch of tokens.

Triskelion + Mikaeus, the Unhallowed - Infinite instant damage to all opponents.

the Myojins wont work since you don't cast with Tooth and Nail, right?

That's my usual combo pieces for my Damia, Sage of Stone deck. I don't play in competitive environments, so my rune scar and palinchron almost never get destroyed.

And none of those Myojin combos work. Even if you did cast the card via Tooth and Nail, the divinity counter only happens if you cast the creature from your hand. If you want to make everyone discard, then Nath of the Gilt-Leaf + Sadistic Hypnotist is right way to go.

im not in a competitive environment myself, actually my previous EDH deck (combo elves) was hated out of the group so now im building a new deck :). Im expecting this to be hated aswell because of the Puzzle box combo, so i built the core to fit Damia as well. Im probably gonna have to change commander after a few games haha..

I think Raging_Squiggle is correct in that Palinchron and Rune-Scarred Demon tutoring for Deadeye Navigator is most generally the best approach, assuming you have an extra mana to cast Deadeye and flick Palinchron to start the combo.

Quiet makes a good point that Teferi, Mage of Zhalfir helps protect the combo, but that depends on having another way to tutor for Deadeye, which somewhat defeats the purpose of casting Tooth and Nail in the first place, not to mention you then need the extra mana to cast the tutor on top of casting Deadeye and activating.

Also, presumably your opponent would interrupt Tooth and Nail if they could rather than waiting for the creatures to come out. The only real exception would be something like Boseiju, Who Shelters All.

But presumably you play Leovold in the command zone as a preliminary form of protection for your combo, so again I think Rune-Scarred is more important than Teferi.

smackjack: My personal favorite pair with Tooth and Nail is Mogis's Marauder+Blightsteel Colossus (though that only takes out a single player).

It's worth mentioning that the Palinchron/Deadeye Navigator combo allows infinite blinking, so if you have any creatures with abusable ETB effects (say, Wall of Blossoms or any one of a million other card-draw-upon-ETB creatures), you can go infinite without needing the extra mana :)

I treat Tooth and Nail like Doomsday: it's great to have a plan, but when push comes to shove, sometimes you need to improvise based on your board state.

Also, if you're constructing Leovold, have you seen Oh, I'm Sorry....Did I break your concentration?? This isn't self-promotion, it's just a fantastic competitive build.

Palinchron, Deadeye Navigator, and Blue Sun's Zenith OR Villainous Wealth. With Rune-Scarred Demon, you can tutor for BSZ until you win...

I personally run Tooth and Nail to fetch Palinchron + Rune-Scarred Demon who in turn fetchs Deadeye Navigator as has been proviously mentioned.

A few other cards I would recommend running on top of this pacakge are Ghostly Flicker, Eternal Witness and Peregrine Drake. They allow for more flexibility if you lose access to one of the pieces and you can use Ghostly Flicker to combo out even ifyou have exactly 9 mana available for TaN.

That being said though, it also comes down to the buidl fothedeck. I mean, if you're a more graveyard heavy deck, here might be cards that interact better wit hhe deck overall such as Triskelion + Mikaeus, the Unhallowed. But for a pure control shell, Deadeye/palinchron works well.

I would throw in a Phantasmal Image as well. Although you can't get it and Palinchron together from Tooth and Nail, it's another infinite combo with Palinchron once they're both out.

I actually personally prefer Peregrine Drake over Palinchron (and not only for the price tag). It doesn't let you abuse Rune-Scarred Demon as easily, but when hard casting things it curves more nicely with Deadeye Navigator and still works with the combo.

Peregrine Drake + Eternal Witness + Ghostly Flicker is a faster combo you can pull off than using Palinchron, definitely. I've used this one quite a few times as you only need 5 mana total to make it work and you can deploy it with 4 lands.

Honestly though, you should run both Peregrine Drake AND Palinchron though. The redundancy is important and especially if you're going to be running a bunch of control wheels, you have the option of pitching one while knowing the other is still in the deck.

Mogis's Marauder is hilarious! I was trying to think of a way to give Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre haste

Avenger of Zendikar and Regal Force could chew pretty deep. Prime Speaker Zegana is $$

Diluvian Primordial and Sepulchral Primordial are (budget) late game plays
