Assist cards in EDH, where do they stand?

So this is just a question for people and their game groups for what they think about the assist mechanic introduced in battlebond and if they have actually used it. In case some don’t know what I am talking about I am referring to cards like Game Plan , Out of Bounds , The Crowd Goes Wild , and Bring Down . I didn’t include the assist creatures since I imagine they won’t see any play.

A few other decent ones I forgot to mention are Play of the Game and Gang Up

if your local meta is pretty friendly then they look decent but if its more competitive you might have a tougher time of using them (there are more efficient card with similar/same effects)

If you have a really good political game or maybe a group hug deck these could work but in general I would avoid them for free for all games.

If you play team games like two-headed, emperor, or even secret partners they should be really nice there.

Reading the release notes on Assist it says you have to reveal and choose 'A' player, so I would assume you'd have to play it by who it may benefit most. For instance, Player C plays Wrath of God while you and Player B have good board presence. So your obvious choice for the assist were you to cast Out of Bounds would be Player B. Or perhaps discuss it with the play group if you can just reveal the card and ask who wants to assist.

I think they could be a good bit of fun given the right circumstances.

Honestly, they fell flat for me. The rate is atrocious if you're paying for them alone, and the cost for most of them need to be split 50/50 to reach playable, e.g. Out of Bounds being Counterspell . I don't know why you would play such conditional cards.

Same principle as Join Forces, Tempting Offer, and Will of the Council presents: more interaction, and political plays. Adds a bit of fun I think.

The Assist cards were made with 2 Headed Giant (2hg) more in mind. I wouldn't put them in my decks, they just aren't good enough, and you have to reveal information to a player, which they could just say no for.
