Advice for Windgrace Win Cons

So, I love my Windgrace deck:

Bad Real Estate

Commander / EDH* Chhris

SCORE: 2 | 2 COMMENTS | 105 VIEWS | IN 1 FOLDER

But I am noticing that it struggles to really guide itself into its win conditions whilst defending its own board state. My current strategy is to outvalue my opponents in the long run, via Genesis retrieval or playing Avenger of Zendikar or Worm Harvest repeatedly. I find I either never really "go off" or run out of steam in killing 1 or 2 people, or spend my whole game nuking everyone else stuff and not advancing myself. Any insights would be much appreciated.

Heres a suggestion: you already run borborygmos. Add The Gitrog Monster and Dakmor Salvage . The three cards combined allow you to essentially fire ball people to death by perpetually drawing, discarding and dredging over and over, and the three by themsleves are solid cards with plenty of utility. Then Defense of the Heart can be added as a way to tutor the two creatures right into play

Glacial Chasm combined with Crucible of Worlds will keep you from taking any damage. Constant Mists is a solid protection/ stall card

I prefer a good old Exsanguinate or Torment of Hailfire with Cabal Coffers and Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth out. Most windgrace decks I know don't swing for damage, but you can assemble a pretty powerful beatdown and rattlesnake plan with Worm Harvest and Omnath, Locus of Rage .

Scapeshift can make certain lands into wincons. Crop Rotation can help find win con lands and utility lands.

Other than that, my suggestion would be to get more cheap(mana cost) tutors so you can tutor out your win cons

I'm working on a Lord Windgrace deck myself, and I agree with the above. I'm going to be adding Omnath, Locus of Rage and The Gitrog Monster to give it some more punch. Borborygmos Enraged sounds like a good plan, too.

Instead of Borborygmos you should just run Seismic Assault . Triple red in a 3-color deck may seem like a lot, but you're a lands matter deck and can probably fix your colors pretty easily with windgraces minus

IMMG54, that is another good consideration. Easy on the budget, too.

IMMG54, I've found that getting isn't hard at all, if you run Orcish Lumberjack . That card is so fun, and I'm so happy to have a deck to put it in.
