This challenge is for two types of people: the Old Fogey that soothly misses the good olde days of Magic, before the mischievous age of Miracles, Infect, and Annihilator, and the Young whippersnapper that wants to know what the game was like when artifacts were brown.

SCORE: 0 | 0 COMMENTS | 36 VIEWSFor this challenge, lets see what you can do when all of your spells are creatures.
What to do:
- Build a 60-card deck (Thou shalt not count to 59, nor to 61).
- All cards must have been printed before 8th Edition.
- You may only use creatures and lands.
- No Sideboard will be used.
Post your deck here by Sunday, July 13, at which time I shall take all submissions and have a tournament to determine the superlative one.

Nice. I wanted to do Clerics but then I saw Zombies. This challenge is basically tribal decks.

cklise The grounds for the land bannings was to keep the focus mostly on creatures. The grounds for banning creatures was to remove the ones that decimate creature-based decks (Royal Assassin ) and to deter tribal strategies somewhat since I didn't want this to become a full-on tribal challenge. It seems I wasn't thorough enough in that area, though.
As for retroactive bannings:
- Metalworker is fine. Artifact decks are handicapped enough with the Mishra lands and noncreature artifacts being banned.
- Peacekeeper is Banned. Can't believe I overlooked that one.
- Commander Eesha is Banned.
I kind of want to go back and ban a bunch of tribal cards, particularly from Onslaught Block. However, since most of the previous submissions include cards that would be considered for banning, it wouldn't really be fair to those that have already submitted.

Yeah, I do it quite frequently. He does take a copy of them/playtest them ON game day, not before. Just don't change them after the challenge starts.

Perhaps you may want to consider banning Metalworker as well? I suppose my real question is this.. on what grounds are cards being banned from this challenge, etc?
