The Future of "Showdown" and my Articles

Challenges and Articles forum

Hello all! I'm here with some exciting news. I have officially been offered a position to create content for www.legitmtg.com. Sure, it's no SCG or Channelfireball...But let's face the facts: I'm not at that caliber yet. :P

Now, the question people may ask me is "what does this mean for your article postings on TO?" Because I will be compensated on this other site, it is in my best interest to put the majority of my content on that site. I hope you all can understand that and not think of me poorly for it. However, I am currently in the process of figuring out a way to keep my "Showdown" series a part of this site. After all, I created it for Tappedout and for Tappedout I would like it to remain.

As of right now, I have asked the people at LegitMTG what their thoughts are on me posting links through this site to the articles and allowing TO to be the means by which I can collect deck entries -- just as I always have done and wish to continue doing. I cannot see why they would be against this. That being said, if they do not wish for that to occur then I will be keeping Showdown fully on TO. Again, it is a TO community article and I want to keep it that way. I love the way it can bring the people on this site together and how it can reveal some hidden gems in the standard brewing community.

yeaGO!, Epochalyptik, KrazyCaley and/or anyone else who may want to give input on this:

I do want to make sure you all are fine with me posting links to my showdown series on the site. What I'm hoping that I can do is provide a brief synopsis of the match, provide a link, and then leave off with instructions on how to enter decks for the matches in the future. How does this sound (assuming it's okay on the other end)?

Lastly, I want to thank all of the people who have been supportive of me both as a Magic deck builder and player, and as a person through this site. It's been a great journey so far, and I can assure you it doesn't stop here. I will remain an active member of the community and hope to only grow from this new challenge that awaits me.

Many thanks,

Spootyone

I have a feeling in my gut that Karametra, God of Harvests may work when JOU is fully spoiled. Don't quote me on this, but it may be true. I know that you (Spootyone) will jump on this like a cat, so definitely keep an eye out for it.

Congrats on the new job! I hope everything works out for you! And I hope that you will continue your Showdown series, as I know that it has helped me become a better player. I am sure many other players have benefited from your articles as well. I look forward to seeing what happens with your article series. Best of luck to you!

Yeah!!! KrazyCaley 2.0 is going MIA.

In all seriousness, I'm really happy for you and will love to see professional articles by a member of T/O.

P.S: LegitMTG isn't selling their Disrupting Shoal s for so much. I think I might've found a new place to buy cards off the Internet.

Nice! A magic job is the dream man, I wouldn't mind writing articles for a site myself though I'm not quite at that caliber yet as player to be confident enough to do so.
