I wrote about the different ways to use life as a resource on my blog. Take a look and see what you can learn.

You may want to mention Phyrexian mana in there. Mentioning how Spellskite can save your creatures even when you are tapped out or being able to Gitaxian Probe for free could directly how life can speed up games or help you out.

While yes those are very good example of other ways you can use life, I was going for the more broad strokes and some basic things you can use life for.

I think you misconstrued the concept a little bit. I understand the concept of life as a resource, but I think you should note that you do need to be cautious of using it too liberally, otherwise the pressure your opponent does have will lose you the game.

I did mention it at the end, but I do feel that there could have been a little more emphasis on the wise usage of life.

The most significant life decrease is going from 4 to 3.

The best usage of life is to kill your opponent. Make sense?

In my opinion, anyway.

By the way, what is a necrobump? I need to get up with the times.

Anyways, I read it, and it was nicely done. I really learned a lot. For example, you can trade life for other things, like cards or removal.

Pain Seer seems like it does that, though you may die from it.

A necrobump is when someone comments on a very old thread so it gets pushed to the top of the forums. It's usually a little bit irritating because it means than an old conversation that has finished gets moved to the top and newer conversations that might not have finished get pushed down.

Pain Seer , Dark Confidant , and cards with phyrexian mana symbols like Dismember are good examples of this.

Yeah, that Dark Confidant , he be necrobumping all the time and pissing all the people off.

If you play a low curve, you won't die from that kind of card. If you're insane, you will.
