The challenge is to build two decks out of any cards, but preferably cards that are easily accessible, that play just as duel decks are supposed to. For example, the decks should be an even match-up, they should play cards that counteract each other, and should be fun to play!

I tried to do this for the last couple of months as a self-taught introduction to MTG deckbuilding. However instead of stopping at 2 decks, I made 5 with the hope that any 2 could be played in a duel deck type scenario. Keeping it to standard and no rare/mythics meant each deck cost under $25 to build and can be easily recreated for all players.

I know some of the decks don't play as well as I would've hoped against mono red, but in keeping it to standard and avoiding rare cards I think I've done an admirable job

Ankle Shanker vs Goblin Heelcutter is something I think would be a fun idea you could build both decks for 10-15 bucks total.
