For those of you who may not know, this month I have been writing all MtG related articles on my blog to celebrate the rotation of standard. With Return to Ravnica rotating out this week, I've dedicated the last article to the 10 guilds, rating each guild charm 1-10 based on my personal experiences with them. Read. Enjoy. How exactly is Gruul Charm better than Golgari Charm and Rakdos Charm ? I'll admit, Rakdos Charm isn't amazing, but at least it is sideboardable. And Golgari Charm is great in legacy (True-Name Nemesis says hi). Gruul Charm is just unplayable in constructed. I had my share of fun with it in limited, but it is just not good outside of a format where simply turning dudes sideways won't quite get you there.

I've won so many games by just double Boros Charm to the face lol almost doesn't seem fair

@Unforgivn it's a totally personal list. This is really just from the experiences I have had, but yeah I kind of struggled with Golgari Charm, but I eventually had to put it in a lower spot because I never used it as much

i agree rakdos charm sucks but not even a tip of the cap to the fact it can grab victory from the jaws of defeat against splinter twin?

Simic Charm doesn't counter Supreme Verdict .
As sad as it makes me to say it, I think Gruul Charm is the worst of the cycle. Nice article though.

Simic Charm gives your creatures hexproof, meaning they can't be targeted by Supreme Verdict . It doesn't have the text "counter" but the effect is essentially the same: totally negating the spell

Supreme Verdict doesn't target, so hexproof does nothing.

Golgari Charm protects against Supreme Verdict though. maybe those two should be swapped.

I really stand by what I put for the each ranking. As I said above, this is totally from my own personal experiences playing. I have a lot more experience playing Simic Charm than Golgari Charm and I get that a lot of people like Golgari Charm , but popularity did not play much of a factor in my decisions

Am I the only one who doesn't like Azorius Charm
?
The only piece that I see at all useful is putting a creature on top of their library because it slows them down a turn. Even then, outright removing it would be better. Other than that, a 2 mana cantrip and a bit of lifegain just seem really underwhelming.

actually MindAblaze! Azorius Charm was another one I wasn't sure about, but I used it a lot...never really used it for the lifelink, but that card draw or that bounce can make all the difference if you ask me. It beats Simic Charm 's bounce effect lol

Rakdos Charm is one of the best SB cards.... Graveyard Hate is good. Living end and Gifts? Artifact hate..... Affinity or Tron (Oblivion Stone anyone?)? And the 1 dmg for each creature... Twin or Kiki-Jiki? Yes please. It kills a large portion of the meta!

Read the article and agree with boros charm being best, love it in modern burn.
