The Highest Amount of Damage in a Game

Hey Tappedout! So, after concluding my most recent game's the most damage you've ever done to a single opponent?

In my most recent commander game I used Tempt with Vengeance and Cathars' Crusade to do a mind boggling 1640 points worth of damage. Here's how:

4 players: Tempt with Vengeance X= 10

Everyone decided to take the 10 tokens offered to them.

This gave me 40 Elemental Tokens with 41/41

Two of my opponents had nothing on board and wanted blockers. The other guy wanted to win. None of them realized that giving me that many tokens was a bad idea until after the fact. Two quit and the last guy just thought it was funny and crazy and let the damage through.

I assume we are talking about non infinite numbers here?

I ended up putting More than 14,000 tokens onto the battlefield over two turns. (One turn of prep.) About 2,000 of those tokens were 3/3 beasts. About 12,000 were 1/1 goblins. Played a Beastmaster Ascension and a Shared Animosity.

12,000 6/6s all getting +11,999/+0.
2,000 8/8s all getting +1,999/+0.
There were other assorted creatures but I'll use these numbers for cleaner calculations.

144,132,000 from the goblins.
4,014,000 from the beasts.

There was more than that but meh.

(This was with a Prossh EDH)

I assume this is discounting infinite combos, because I've used Gravecrawler + Grimgrin, Corpse-Born + Rooftop Storm to make the big guy infinity/infinity a bunch of times before

Excluding infinite damage, Flinging Thromok the Insatiable after devouring a few hundred tokens was fun.

ducttapedeckbox I watched a friend do that for 8,000 the other day. So good!

i had a casual goblin deck and i just kept on using krenko for 15ish turns and had Coat of Arms dealing over 3,000,000 b/c of Hamletback Goliath and the gobs.

Oh damn, don't think I've ever gotten that high without dragging a game on Ohthenoises.

I forgot about this one:

Playing precon C13 decks in a 4-man game with slight alterations. Oloro player had 2,000 life and dropped a Serra Avatar. Hardcast Phthisis with mana open for a counterspell protection. Heh.

that's amazing

Prossh is just retarded

I was on the receiving end of over 500 damage from a token deck my brother had. I don't like to talk about it lol.

In a casual game of 2 headed giant i managed to reanimate 14 dragons with Scourge of Valkas being one if them.

Hydra Broodmaster + Kruphix, God of Horizons + Prophet of Kruphix + a few Temur Ascendancys in a multiplayer match I almost milled myself lol, when I finished the game with 2 lethal Crater's Claws(2 I think for 2 people) I had like 4 cards left, I took out most of the group:p!

Excluding infinite damage, the most I've ever done was actually beyond my ability to math. I had Ulamog, Kozilek, Avenger of Zendikar with 37 tokens, and activated Kamahl, Fist of Krosa's Overrun ability 300 times. Without infinite mana.

January 29, 2015 7:49 p.m.

klone13 says... #14

how so many times?

January 29, 2015 7:50 p.m.

Ohthenoises says... #15

I can math that for you.

(300 x3)x41=36,900 + 31

36,931 damage assuming that the 37 tokens were avenger tokens.

Probably Omnath, Locus of Mana with Doubling Cube or some such setup.

January 29, 2015 7:54 p.m.

-Fulcrum says... #17

I probably had 2 or 3 landfall triggers. I was playing Azusa, so mana was easy.

I did something over 10,000 on turn 5 in one epicly lucky casual game. I was playing elves and Genesis Wave'd for about X=5 and luckily got me 3 Elvish Archdruid's. I top decked another Genesis Wave which got me the rest of my deck, with around 30 elves on the battlefield (also a Craterhoof Behemoth) plus a ton of mana. Played a pair of Elvish Promenade's to get me so many elf tokens and tapped 3 Immaculate Magistrates on a Joraga Warcaller and gave them all an Ezuri buff + trample and swung in. Good Game indeed.

Ohthenoises says... #19

So add 47xY where Y is the number of landfall triggers that you had to that previous number.

The Doctor says... #20

In standard, the most I've done is roughly 173.

In EDH, the most I've done without going infinite was roughly 9001 with Omnath, Locus of Mana.

January 29, 2015 8:33 p.m.

Ohthenoises says... #21

That's just OVER 9000!

(Fun fact, the real number is 8000 but they mistranslated it)

Well, you know, roughly.

I usually say a million when i use Splinter Twin, since you technically have to choose a number and cant say infinite

KSULongneck says... #24

I once did over 75,000 on turn 9 with just two attackers. Kalonian Hydra and Primordial Hydra with three Corpsejack Menace in play. Solidarity of Heroes targeting both. This was legitimate turn 9. I didnt stall just to build up. Though my opponent had played some fog effects.

January 29, 2015 9:41 p.m.

SEVEN. SUCK IT.

Couple billion without going infinite. I lost count afrer the 20th Wild Beastmaster trigger. But that deck was sooo much fun.

Turned my Scion of the Ur-Dragon into a Scourge of Valkas then Rite of Replication kicked for 180 damage (that was without the "unlimited" Splinter Twin+Intruder Alarm combo I had waiting in the wings)

Rhadamanthus says... #29

I've probably technically done more than this, but this is the story that sticks out most clearly in my mind.

I was playing a friend and we were each using one of his decks. He was playing Slivers and I was playing a deck that stalled with Fog effects, gained life, ramped mana, and killed with Hurricane. So the game has gone on for an incredibly long time, and he has a ton of creatures including Winged Sliver. I go to end the game with a 20-point Hurricane but he responds with Reflect Damage, causing me to deal exactly 900 damage TO MYSELF.

January 30, 2015 9:56 a.m.

Kozelek says... #30

My brother once did that to me but it was a 5 way game with a Crypt Rats for 12 I quit adding up the damage 1/2 way around the table (everyone had as least 5 creatures on the feild)
