Imagine a format where the goal is to lose faster than your opponent. First player to 0 life wins.

What's your deck look like?

Definitely Red, and just build a burn deck that hits myself. Shoutout to Char, and probably put Fire Covenant and Boros Reckoner in there for a potential turn 4 self combo kill

Mono Black deck with 4x Spoils of the Vault, 4x Serum Powders, 4x Hex Parasite, and 48x Swamp. Mull till you find a Spoils of the Vault and a swamp. Cast Spoils naming anything other that Spoils, Powder, or Swamp and your entire deck gets exiled dealing over 50 damage to yourself. Or cast the Parasite and activate the ability until you die.

I don't remember the card but I'm pretty sure there is a one mana creature with pherexian firebrething. All decks would play 4 of that since it's game turn 1

Also the pacts would have to be banned for obvious reasons

MagicManSam has a One with Nothing video about how to lose on turn one with no library/permanents/etc. It's pretty entertaining.

The red extra turns deck loses to sideboarded Pacts. The black one can too, but only if it's Pact of Negation.

Not sure how I missed Gemstone Caverns and Chrome Mox :P

This is already a thing in Draft.

It's called Backdraft.

Argy how's it work?

September 30, 2017 11:20 p.m.

SteelSentry says... #20

Backdraft is just building the worst deck for someone else, isn't it? This would be a format where you are literally casting Lightning Bolt targeting yourself.

Well yeah.

I thought of backdraft first because it's a similar idea but has more legs.

I think this idea could be "solved" quite quickly.

Backdraft is where you draft the worst pool then randomly swap pools and everyone tries to build a deck as best they can.

Then you play a game and whoever put together the pool of the deck that loses first wins.
