In a press release on February 22, 2017, NASA announced the discovery of the most Earth-sized planets found in the habitable zone of a single star, called TRAPPIST-1. This system of seven rocky worldsall of them with the potential for water on their surfaceis an exciting discovery in the search for life on other worlds. There is the possibility that future study of this unique planetary system could reveal conditions suitable for life.

Well, I sure know what they were drinking when they named that star:

If the world cared about space exploration more than we do at present, there'd be a swarm of ultra-fast robots on their way already to check it out.

HorseFist, sadly they're 40 light years away - even if we sent robots faster than what we have now there probably wouldn't be anyone left on earth when (if) they arrived. FTL travel would be sweet and make it doable, though.

The most interesting thing about finding a planet inhabited by life, any form of life, is that it will put paid once and for all to the voices who continue to say that abiogenesis can never be a thing.
