I am interested in hearing some of your stories about casual/serious games that you lost for silly reasons/misplays (like being unable to answer a continuously triggering Shorecrasher Mimic or losing track of how many loyalty counters were on Kiora, the Crashing Wave) or just blindsided by a random card/strategy that just broke your deck in half. Some examples would be like your playing a sweet mill deck and then a Wheel of Sun and Moon hits the board or your playing mono blue control but but you just HAD to play that Augury Owl and a T2 Eyes of the Wisent resolved.
All of the above has happened to me... and these losses just kinda stuck with me... just interested in hearing about other players tales of defeat.
I miscounted once while playing my Phenax, God of Deception deck and tried to kill my opponent with Duskmantle Guildmage on my turn then died on the crack back.

It wasn't too bad though considering that the next time I used that deck against them I had a Tree of Perdition wearing some Lightning Greaves. 0/40s make for sweet sweet vengeance >:3

I remember playing against a Wrexial, the Risen Deep deck (I used Tariel, Reckoner of Souls), and my opponent won through the life loss from Countersquall. I may have gotten a little salty from that game.

I was playing an EDH reanimator deck, and had most of my good stuff already back into play out of my graveyard. Opponent played a Living Death, so in response I sacrificed my board so I'd get everything back. He then Remands his own Living Death, and I cried.

Didnt happen to me, as much as for me. My brother and I were playing last night, he runs ponza i run tron. I played a Reality Smasher he was at 6 life i was at 4, and had a Thought-Knot Seer on the board. Dropped the Reality Smasher he tried to Beast Within it. It gets countered, obviously, i swung for the win.

I was playing zombie hunt. My opponent dropped his Megrim. We had a good laugh and i packed in my deck.

Well I was playing my R/G aggro commander (omanth, locus of rage) and my friend and a few others were trading blows with each other, course the guy with the control deck had his Ojutai commander in play with Mana open to shut stuff down.
He was gonna kill me next turn because I was doing very scary things with omnath as per usual.
So I swung out on him expecting removal~
He casts Cyclonic Rift, overloaded to bounce my obnoxious amount of tokens
So I sac them all in response to cast a spell Soulblast, which he couldn't respond to, cuz saccing was part of paying the spell. Thought I had him on the brink with enough for lethal on the triggers and the spell itself alike.
He misdirects it to me and I die to my own Soulblast. The Omnath triggers are exiled upon my Face exploding.
...Needless to say I've put a little bit into the deck. There is now Boseiju, Who Shelters All specifically so I can tell control people to fuck off to.
I can't wait to tell him to fuck off lol.

I was playing EDh against a friend, using Queen Marchesa and my opponent Trostani, Selesnya's Voice. He realized that he accidentally built in a combo to gain infinite life and was super pumped he did so without knowing, but then I just killed him with commander damage thanks to Godsend and Elspeth, Knight-Errant. RIP him and his infinite life.

During an amonket/hour of devastation draft I had two creatures (opponent was around 5)on board I knew my opponent would kill curses Minotaur and block the other guy I had supernatural stamina in hand and was going to cast it on cursed Minotaur after he cast his kill spell, I forgot to cast it and didnt attack again that game.
