A superband or supergroup is a musical group comprised of musicians who have already achieved fame separately, as members of other bands or as solo artists, such as Cream, Captain Beyond, Chickenfoot, Black Country Communion, Damn Yankees, and so forth, most of which are very awesome bands, but few of which last for more than several albums.

Therefore, I wish to start a thread in which users here can form their own superbands, to show what their ideal musical groups would be, if they could form such groups. For the purposes of this thread, I will ask that users choose only one member from a particular band, so that their own supergroups are not simply an existing band with only one or two different members.

Since thrash metal is my favorite sub-genre of heavy metal, my ideal superband would consist of Jason Newsted on bass, Dave Lombardo on drums, Dave Mustaine on guitar, and Jeoy Belladonna on vocals. An alternative would be Charlie Benante on drums, David Ellefson on bass, James Hetfield on vocals, and Kerry King on guitar.

Since all of those musicians are still alive, if I could form a superband of musicians who are now deceased, I would choose Randy Rhoades on guitar, Cliff Burton on bass, Nick Menza on drums, and Ronnie James Dio on vocals. For a band oriented more toward rock and roll, rather than heavy metal, I would have Jimi Hendrix on guitar, John Entwhistle on bass, John Bonham on drums, and Freddie Mercury on vocals.

What does everyone else say about this? What musicians would you choose for your own superband?

Pop Punk Nostalgia

Drums - Travis Barker

Lead Guitar - Ray Toro

Rhythm Guitar/Vocals - Patrick Stump

Keyboard/Vocals - Hayley Williams

Bass - Emma Anzai

A literal who's who of the bands that defined my adolescence and early adulthood. The superlative kit wrecking of Barker, sensational fingers of Toro, the passion and heart of Stump harmonizing with the energy and drive of Williams, all set to the funky, slaptastic bowl of awesome provided by the singular Emma Anzai.

I would buy every album such a band ever put out and pre order tickets to tour dates that don't even yet exist.
