... Im going to be best tempered on this Site as someone who makes music related posts. So in the long month ahead of waiting for Kamelots new album I have been listening to a lot of symphonic metal and have come across some operatic vocalists such as Federica lanna of sleeping romance sergio mena of crownless, and I revisited some of my favorite operatic vocalists such as Roy Kahn and Simone simmons, who is your favorite operatic vocalist. Yes i am restricting this one I plan on doing a favorite vocalist of all time thread after Kamelot releases the album and I listen to it. ... well now that I think about it its not much of a restriction unless you also listen to Death/black metal, groove metal, and other genres that require harsh vocals...

I saw a lovely rendition of Carmen a while back, with a fantastic Escamillo. I cannot recall the man's name, but he stood out as exemplary even amid an already exemplary performance of Bizet's masterpiece.

But, based on my complete ignorance of the names you mentioned, I have slight suspicion we might be talking about different things!

cdkimeYeah the names i mentioned are all within the metal scene, but operatic vocals are probably found more in pop than anything except the opera and if not pop, than symphonic metal, I recommend sleeping romance to hear the kind of vocals Im talking about.. it may be more restricting than I thought. Also if any of you have listened to Judas Priest or Iron Maiden those are the kind of vocals Im talking about.
