Whats everyones thoughts on the new content? I for one like the new items available for purchase from the vanguard and such. So that non-raiders can eventually get past level 30. Although only 3 new levels with only 2 of them being able to be played again was Probly a little lacking.
New raid and higher gear evens that out though. I have yet to beat Crota himself (half health was closest) but have found easy methods to get first 2 chests and beat the bridge portion in few minutes (glitch method), but can and have done the proper method.
And the new raid gear also looks really sweet. At least on warlock, Havnt seen much of others yet . And the new marks are pretty cool too. The warlock one called bone circlet, kind of looks like spiky rocks with a green flame that will change color to match your shader.
And minor bragging, I got ghalahorn yesterday from the first chest :) .

I'll probably purchase the expansion once I'm home for break. I've heard mixed thoughts about it, and I think it's rather unprofessional for the Nightfall strikes to have the possibility of being Expansion-holders only. That's a discussion for a different day, though.
I haven't bought it yet because my University WiFi just LOVES to disconnect when I'm finishing the strikes I can do. Two out of three of the "God's spawns" (don't remember what they're called) in the Black Garden killed for an Exotic bounty? Oops, disconnect. About to finish my last strike without dying for another Exotic bounty? WiFi takes 30 second power nap. Anyways, once I'm home and can actually complete missions, I'll probably buy it.
As for the new content/higher-level content, how do you guys get your Ascendant Shards/Energies and Legendary items? I'm a lv26 Hunter and I only have one legendary item... Well, I just bought some with Crucible points, but yeah... Have two exotic bounties to work on though.

The New raid gear materials is only from new raid, other legendarys will use the regular ascendant materials like before

And you could probably break down raid gear for the materials too. And i'd say do the vanguard bounties or join a faction like Dead Orbit, New Monarchy, or the Future War Cult, so that all rep for crucible and vanguard will go towards ranking up, cause when you rank up a faction to rank 3 they will send you something nice in the mail and could be armor or weapons of legendary status as well as be able to purchase stuff through them. I just find it easier to get vanguard marks than crucible.
And another option is when you get TDB there is a new strike playlist called Roc as in Wingmate Roc haha, but its a lvl 26 strike that seems to have a much higher chance of getting legendary engrams from, I have gotten 3 already and a legendary ship from it.
