I need more "friends" to play/raid with. Haven't done either raid yet. Add me on xbox 360 Basilisk1986. I primarily play warlock/sunsinger.
Excellent, I'm looking for raid partners too. I'm Darkn3ssVisibl3 on live, mostly a hunter or Titan. I'm looking to do a raid tomorrow morning hopefully, if anyone is up for it.

Well, I already have Titan added but I'm Darkdoom136 (randomly generated name from an old game). Lv29 Hunter (could be 30-31 but I don't have armor I want to use shards on). My roommate plays as a Titan on my acct.
Also @Titan, I can do that special Phogoth mission myself now I know what I'm doing... Should attempt it together again.

I have midterms this week and next but maybe someone can help me do Urn of Sacrifice or the Phogoth Thorn bounty or get a raid team next weekend?

Wish I could, Differential Eq. midterm tomorrow. I feel ready but I have no excuse if I do poorly and play Destiny tonight haha.
I have my hardest midterm Thursday so I'll be on this weekend.

I had to do that, and didn't have a decent Void weapon. Did it with a green void fusion rifle. Eventually I got a rare void sniper which made the 500 pts in crucible slightly less painful.

The Hunter is the WORST for Void. Titans have a Void grenade or something. Warlocks have a bunch of things. Hunters need a weapon :(
Ah well, it's done. Oh wait. Crucible points was for Invective or Bad Juju bounty. I want a better primary though... hate my stupid auto rifle.
I did pick up Ice Breaker when Xur had it a week or two ago. Very happy with my purchase.
I'm glad they added the matchmaking for weekly raid, it was a pain to find people to do it for bounties.

I play on xbox one, can we play across platforms? I have a lvl.31 hunter and warlock, haven't been able to do a raid yet :(

I know I'm usually on Tuesday morning to run through both the Nightfall and Heroic with my 32 Warlock, 31 Titan, and 31 Hunter.

My "early" classes start at 1pm. The joys of being in a specific program so you can pick the times you want for classes.

I'm on at random times but usually later at night(east coast) as I have a wife and 2 children(4yr old and 7 mo old) who take up most of my time.

Nice playing with you just now brokendwarf. I'm not really sure my why my mic doesn't work right now but I'm trying to get that straightened out. That Legendary engram I got from the Daily was the first one I've gotten in weeks, and of course I got two Shards from it :(
We'll have to do something more challenging some time, I was just doing some bounties to try to get my Bad Juju up to the point where it refills itself (basically there). Maybe you can help me with the Phogoth/Thorn mission? I'm fairly certain I can solo it, but it would take forever. Did a dry run last week and got past the part where the Ghost has to open the door but then had to go to class. Doing the Nightfall or a raid would be great too, I've never been able to do that since only one other friend plays and he plays on the titan on my account, hah. Maybe I can get an exotic or decent legendary from one of those, other than waiting to accumulate strange coins (which is a pain without doing higher level strikes) and hoping Xur has something cool.

Oh, do you have a hunter account? Do you have suggestions of which armor I should use my Shards on? I have 40 shards right now and like 10 energies, and I want to save those for when I have a legendary weapon I actually like. Pretty sure upgraded armor will get me to at least lv30, maybe 31.

What's the deal with the Nightfall? If the entire team dies you start over? It's 3 strange coins on easy, up to 9 on hard? As you can see, I've never done one :(
Oh, also need help with the Urn of Sacrifice too... if anyone wants to help with any of this :P

That's why it's called Nightfall.
The 9 strange coins is for the weekly heroic, not the nightfall.

Just upgrade any armor that has 33 Light; a full set of armor with 33 Light will get you to 31+

Is there any in particular I should get or wait for? I don't play too much so Shards aren't readily available. I've just begun amassing my Saph. wire and Weapon Parts stocks.

It helps to have more than 1 character to run the daily/weekly/nightfall with. Farm those materials and coins!

Ideally I would do that, but it comes down to the amount I can play. My friend's Titan on my acct. is lv24 so I can farm it if I want/had time. The Warlock is only lv7 hahaha

It'll get to the point where you'll have so many shards you have nothing to do with them. Same thing for your upgrade material and weapon parts. I think I'm sitting on 270 shards, 1700 hadronic essence, and 700 weapon parts. And since I can run all 3 of my characters through the weekly/nightfall, I can rake in 27 coins from them.
Really the only thing to wait for is Xur, and he's kinda sold craptacular stuff since the DLC came out (sure he's sold Ice Breaker, but I just bought one to have a 3rd). Armor goes for 13 coins and the weapon goes for 17.

Also, give us a good 20 minutes, and we can breeze you through the Crota raid. Me and my 3-Hunter-files buddy brought Titan through it up to Crota (didn't get any armor though, sucks about that, but that happens sometimes). Oh yeah, after you left we 2-manned Crota, so that was an interesting experience.

Ah yeah if I can consistently do the Weekly then buying stuff won't be a problem. I did buy Ice Breaker when he had it though, happy about that.
Definitely would love to run through Crota with you. My weapons are rather crappy (usual is a meh legendary auto rifle (hate it), Ice breaker/Murmur/LDR, and The Swarm...other than that its just rare items). I have an exam tomorrow but after I'll be on. Well, if we have a snow day, my exam is moved to Friday afternoon (really mad at her for that- c'mon, have the make up DURING the class...). Regardless I'll be on sometime this weekend and would love to do the Weekly and/or a raid.

ducttapedeckbox So I have this problem with other people on my friend's list. Due to NAT issues (probably mine, our connection is turds), I can't hear certain people in game chat and I can't join their party, which is basically what happened today. However, if we join another person's party it should work fine, which will be the case for the raid. In all honesty, I only need like 3 people total for Crota (my hunter buddy is the swordbearer, that dude can use the sword really well), so the others can be tag-alongs, which we do frequently anyway. Seriously, raids don't take any effort anymore.

I had that too! It's something with the way the school sets up their Wifi- hell, I can't even get onto my schools Wifi with my xbox. I have my own router that broadcasts the wired connection from the school, and for some reason it works (and with a better connection than the wired connection itself...).
Anyways, that would be awesome. I'll probably be on tomorrow afternoon/night, after my exam. Pretty pumped about getting The Last Word too, first exotic that I didn't buy/get from a bounty.
About how long does Crota usually take?

We have a wireless connection, but because of where we live it's pretty crappy because there aren't any cable lines running back to our house (we live in like a backwoods kinda area). To have really good connection we'd need satellite internet, and I don't think that's very budget friendly.
"Usually" depends on the people you're playing with. If you're playing with people who have never done the raid, it could take 2+ hours. If you're playing with us, we can tank it in 20 minutes or less (at least for easy mode. Ask Titan, we ran him through it with me and my hunter buddy)). Atheon is just as easy if not easier.

No, not budget at all haha. I'm thrilled to be getting my own apartment and out of university housing next year (Wifi reasons, my dorm is less than five years old so the building and interior is really nice). For some dumb reason the university shares WiFi with one of the Baltimore hospitals a block over. It's ridiculous.

Ha, not really. There are proper ways to do the raid; we don't do that. As long as we can cheese certain parts of the raid, that's how we teach people.
When I can do it is really of no concern; I don't do anything other than school so I'm pretty much free all the time. It's the rest of the squad (or at least 1 of the good swordbearer hunters) that needs to get on as well.

Warlock is best class. I'm Brotinn Dvergur if you want to add me. The dudes I raid with are very proficient at it. Like just today we did hard Crota.
