Mega evo ... I think it is a good think I stopped at Soul Silver.

Asher18 says... #11

not.at.all. you. genwunner. GROW UP. dude yes HGSS were awesome, but BWB2W2 brought us the most story ever in a pokemon game, as well as the most post-game content EVER in B2W2.XY bring you into the 3-d pokemon world. Gen 6 wasnt about new pokes as 5 was, it is about exploration and development of yourself in your journey! The fact that you decided to stop at gen 4 disappoints me, considering ho crappy DPPt were...

December 25, 2014 3:58 p.m.

Femme_Fatale says... #12

I stopped at my childhood. Mastering SS like I mastered Silver was were my pokemon adventures were fulfilled and completed. The pokemon in these XY And BW versions were terrible that it just put me off, I never finished DPPT either, it was a Christmas gift I didn't expect so that's why I played it. Hell, even RSE and FRLG weren't that fun for me, though I played those on emulator.

I don't play pokemon for the story, that's like reading a book because you like its cover artwork, paper quality and font size. If I wanted to play a monster catcher game for the story I'd go play Shin Megami Tensei.

December 25, 2014 5:20 p.m.

Asher18 says... #13

you sicken me. Unless you don't play video games, at all. Otherwise, hippocrite.

December 25, 2014 5:29 p.m.

Femme_Fatale says... #14

How the hell am I a hypocrite? Silver has the best pokemon and isn't tainted by the terrible quality of pokemon from the later series. Because of its nostalgic value from my childhood, I actually enjoy SS whereas all the rest I've never enjoyed. And I can say that you shouldn't play a pokemon game for its story because that's not what it's made for. It's just something added on to make it look more "holistic". It is also a marketing tactic that they are just starting to use, not unlike the purpose to have multiple games of the same series out.

December 25, 2014 10:23 p.m.

VampireArmy says... #15

Lol wtf did i just read. I'm playing omega ruby strickly because of nostalgia. I could care less about competitive gameplay. Also top lols to you for telling someone to grow.up for not enjoying a pokenon game

December 25, 2014 10:36 p.m.

Asher18 says... #16

what you just said (not you vampire) is that pokemon is a sellout. so halo 1-4, farcryt 1-4, and every sequel ever isnt? that's what makes you a Hypocrite. "Terrible Pokemon". You genwunner. What you don't realize is that the reason the pokes you like are only that way due to a layer of nostalgia. If the pokemon from 3rd and 4th gen come before that of 1st and 2nd, you'd have hated kanto and johto and loved hoenn and sinnoh. You sicken me.

I have no idea what's going on here, but I felt an uncontrollable urge to point out that Pokemon is NOT a real thing, but rather a game. Someone's getting jumped up in here 'cuz they voiced an opinion... damn.

Copy and paste what alulien said. This is ridiculous.

This thread....it scares me to think of one's mental state to be this offended over a game

December 26, 2014 12:59 a.m.

Femme_Fatale says... #20

Yeah, him just starting to put labels on me when A) he doesn't even know who I am B) with what information I give aren't even true, and C) starting to put words in my mouth, I think he is either overly emotional or just a troll.

Another thing, I do realize that I like the pokemon from silver mainly because of nostalgia, but on another note, when talking with a lot of other people who play pokemon, the general consensus is that the newer pokemon games don't hold up to the old ones in terms of pokemon quality. Style, design, uniqueness, and all around general aesthetics just aren't there anymore. The ones who say no are overly defensive about the pokemon games. Like you are.

The team is obviously getting tired of making more new pokemon each generation. You see it with other video games as well, why do you think the team that made the Batman Arkhan games left another secondary team to make them (or it could have been just one). They just didn't want to be making the same kind of game over and over again. I can see this with your claim in the new pokemon games not having new pokemon, but more story line focused. They are trying something new and different because they are tired and out of ideas for more pokemon.

While trying something different as a marketing tactic works for some gamers (the more experienced ones), it won't work for the more casual ones. (hint hint: Casual gamers make up for about 93% of a console companies income) Casual gamers don't want innovative games. They want they same kind of game each and every time, something they know that they are going to get. Which is why Halo, Assassin's Creed, Fry Cry, CoD and all the EA Sports games constantly get remade with nothing really new about them. It is their consistency in the same content that drives their sales. It is the reason why Windwaker didn't sell, it's the reason why Mario Party and Mario Kart continue to be at the top of Nintendo's sales, it is the reason why Pokemon has always been a highly played game. All the top game companies are just doing what gets them the most income, remaking the same game over and over again because that is how they make their money. The only difference is is that Nintendo's games appeal to a much wider audience and whose focus has been mainly on fun.

But I'm rambling on. I guess the short term message of what I want to say to those who really don't care about facts or economics or anything like is this:

You can't fuck with Dunsparce!

I like Shuckle too, if anything it is my #2, but my love for Dunsparce will always be true.

December 26, 2014 2:40 p.m.

VampireArmy says... #26

I dunno. One of my poke-fanatic friends told me that Shuckles are like one of the best competitive pokemon for tournament play or something. He was even banned at one point I guess? Might even still be. I just find it halarious because he LOOKS so....weak 0.0 but he fucks shit up

December 26, 2014 2:45 p.m.

Femme_Fatale says... #27

I know very well he's tournament quality. But dat Dunsparce yo. DUNSPARCE.

December 26, 2014 2:55 p.m.

Asher18 says... #28

shuckle is the only pokemon capable of delaing the most damage in a single attack.... with 31 ivs in atk/def, 252 evs in both stats, boosted stats to the max after a power trick, with a crit on a turn five rollout on a 0IV/0defEV combee who has had max def reducing stat changes.... it reaches the trillions ito how much damage it deals... too bad it can never, EVER happen cometetively

December 26, 2014 4:49 p.m.

VampireArmy says... #29

So what I got out of that was ASDDSFGASFFGADGDGDGDGDGF and ASDFDFDF then it does sjdfbkeubrkwBFAEIygryiOF which makes it wkdbhkfbEAKFBEKABFRASGF

December 26, 2014 4:58 p.m.

Femme_Fatale says... #30

ivs and evs are hidden stats variables in the game. EVS are effort value points which certain pokemon will give. For example, if you have your Pikachu face a lot of pokemon that give the Speed EV, then your Pikachu will get more Speed points. IVS are individual value points and are basically a set thing your pokemon will have. The moment you find one in the wild or receive one through NPC trade, the pokemon is given an individual value to each stat, and these are like the pokemon's genes. Unlike EVS they do not change as your pokemon gains levels, so it is important to find one at the start of the game with high IVS.

December 26, 2014 5:08 p.m.

Femme_Fatale says... #31

I should have mentioned that a pokemon's nature was its IV.

December 26, 2014 5:09 p.m.

VampireArmy says... #32

I think my zigzagoon must have been pretty boss then because when it's like lv 86 now (found at lv 2) and it wrecks even the harder trainers to beat in the game. like...i took it with me to the elite 4 and it did work on most of the even :D

December 26, 2014 5:12 p.m.

Asher18 says... #33

nope. stats. levels still matter. I forgot to mention that shuckle needs a nature that boosts defense or attk,. and combee needs a def lowering nature

December 26, 2014 5:33 p.m.

Mega Sableye got no mention? I'm sad now :c

December 27, 2014 1:24 a.m.

Asher18 says... #35
