Synopsis

Play Zur ASAP Buff him Make him unkillable Fetch in Pillow Fort Necropotence Combo Kill everyone w/ Commander Damage or Poison Counters

Basic Strategy:

Turns 1, 2, and 3: Do some setting up. Bring out your mana rocks and anything small (such as Helm of the Gods or Strionic Resonator) you have in your hand. Don’t play any auras yet.

Turn 4: Hopefully you’ll have the mana to play Zur by now. If so, Then do. Otherwise do more setting up.

Turn 5, 6, 7: Swing with Zur if you can. The first enchantments out should be Diplomatic Immunity, Vanishing, and Shielded by Faith, preferably in that order.

From then on: Bring out your Pillow Fort. If you’re feeling impatient, Enlightened Tutor for Strionic Resonator to double trigger Zur’s ability. If not, use it for Sphere of Safety or Celestial Mantle.

Once your Pillow Fort is done, it’s time to have some fun. Use Spellbook and Necropotence in tandem with Empyrial Armor and Celestial Force for 3 cards per turn, then maybe bring out your Unquestioned Authority with Golden Wish and swing for 21 Commander Damage . Or you could just Phyresis and win. It’s up to you.

Fun Combos:

Enchanted Evening + Helm of the Gods

Spellbook + Necropotence Adding Empyrial Armor and Celestial Force make it even better.

Sterling Grove/Fountain Watch + Enchanted Evening (No more auras can be put on Zur though after this, so you’d best be careful. Probably a more late-game spell)

Rewind + Any bounce land(s)

Erebos, God of the Dead + any lifegain card + Celestial Convergence

Notes:

I’m considering Overbeing of Myth and Privileged Position because my playgroup agrees that hybrids were made to be played in monocolor decks.

Also, I have a question. Is Sterling Grove allowed in my sideboard for Golden Wish? I’ve done some research but have gotten conflicting messages.
