Overview

This is one of those classic voltron and everybody groans land destruction decks. Zurgo Helmsmasher is the very talented leader of this deck. Besides stepping on hats, his abilities include wielding up to 5 swords at one time, screaming, and being easily struck and killed by lightning.

Clutch Equipment

Obvious Choices:

• Umezawa's Jitte -whenever I see someone else play this, I cry a little bit. It can be brutal to face.
• Batterskull-Provides a body by itself and gives Zurgo some much needed lifegain.
• Cranial Plating-being an artifact themed deck, this can give Zurgo quite the boost.
• Worldslayer-Given Zurgo's indestructibility on my turn, this becomes quite the combo as it leaves only Zurgo and Worldslayer standing if nothing else is indestructible. This allows for easy hits afterwards.

The five swords:

• Sword of Fire and Ice -Just a hella equipment
• Sword of Feast and Famine-Allowing my lands to untap is a great ability. Pro black and green also provide phenomenal protection
• Sword of Light and Shadow-This also provides great protection. In addition the recursion can be useful.
• Sword of War and Peace -It's good for some extra damage and lifegain and provides good protection (especially from pesky burn spells).
• Sword of Body and Mind -I want to include all five swords. Also, it gives an extra body for chump blocking.

Unexpected Star:

• Sunforger-I put this in here with the idea that I might replace it later. But I was wrong. This card is versatile in a multitude of situations. I can grab anything from removal (as long as its white) to cards that give Zurgo doublestrike for the final blow. It has come in handy in many games.

Land Destruction

Sometimes I'm not a popular player. People don't like land destruction. But it allows for disrupting opponents play so that I can focus on equipment and swinging.

• Strip Mine+Crucible of Worlds-this is a mean lock to play but it is useful to getting rid of a few vital lands an opponent controls.
• Cataclysm
• Wildfire
• Armageddon
