Zur the Enchanter Commander Deck

Been wanting to make another commander deck for a while now, and I wanted one that was a big contrast to my Omnath-Locus of Rage EDH deck. Looking through commanders, I found Zur the Enchanter and I thought that making a deck with it would be fun.

(Also note that this deck was built on a budget, so no overly expensive cards here) (Well, Greater Auramancy is in the deck, but it is too good in the deck for me to exclude it. Mostly everything else is budget friendly though.)

The main point of this deck is to get out Zur the Enchanter as quickly as possible using our varied mana-base as well as a few mana rocks sprinkled throughout the deck. Once Zur enters the battlefield, then the goal is to swing with him before he dies in order to start fetching the many, many enchantments we have out of our deck.

There are a few notable targets here for protecting Zur, and a good first pick would be Shielded by Faith to make him indestructible. There are also some enchantments that give him shroud like Diplomatic Immunity to make him more protected.

Once Zur is protected, you can start going for other enchantments that will improve your life greatly. There are many enchantments that will keep you ahead of your opponents, but there is one combo-lock in this deck that if played will prevent your opponents from killing you. (Unless they can get out of it.) The combo I'm referring to is Phyrexian Unlife + Solemnity . Getting this combo onto the battlefield means that even if your opponents can put you down to zero life, you still won't die due to damage. Of course if they can destroy your enchantments or mill your entire library you can still lose, but if you can pull it off most of the time you will just win.

There is also a fun combo in Aegis of the Gods + Diplomatic Immunity which will give you hex-proof indefinitely (even more if you make him immune to creature damage or just indestructible. However the indestructible enchantment is best for Zur.)

There are also ways to get back our enchantments should they be removed. Auramancer Nomad Mythmaker & Sun Titan are all ways to get back enchantments from the graveyard.There is also Open the Vaults if you managed to get a lot of necessary enchantments in your graveyard that you need back.

And there are many other cool enchantments in the deck to help keep you on top, but it would be too long to say them all. Anyways, I hope you've enjoyed this fun semi-budget Zur the Enchanter deck!
