I wanted to build a mono black deck with a simple, straightforward victory plan, moderately good power level, and as many of my favorite black spells as I could cram in. This is the result so far.

Korlash as general is for fun--I have the promo foil from playing in the Future Sight prerelease lo these many years ago. Of course, he's also a nice late-game beater. But I have intentionally left some other legendary creatures in the maindeck to guest-general sometimes. Most notable among these is Shirei, who should provide some decent value with various of the small creatures in the deck (e.g. Bone Shredder).

Other than that, this deck mostly wants to kill stuff and reanimate it. Profane Command is one of my very favorite black spells and serves as loose inspiration for the rest of the deck. The reanimator package is defintely motivated in large part by a desire to play Coffin Queen and Whip of Erebos. And, to keep opponents amused amidst me destroying all their nonblack creatures, I have put a little extra effort into getting morphs and ninjas into the mix.
