you need to steal more creatures and focus on brion's fling ability or change your general. Here is my brion's deck list for reference on how to abuse his ability Brion, Pitching for the Win but if you are going to get you're deck as it is, I suggest changing ur general to Gisela, Blade of Goldnight , Aurelia, the Warleader , or Iroas, God of Victory .

I'm really interested in Brion, as a way to prevent my creatures from dying in vain. So I'd rather put in more steal than replace him.

Maybe add in Feldon of the Third Path. You can animate a creature to get the ETB trigger, then fling it with Brion. There are lots of goodies in the new Red Commander 2014 set that would fit in here.
