Zedruu's got a generous spirit.

I built this deck based on the 8x8 Theory with eight packages of eight cards each, although it may go over or under in some categories. This deck is still in the testing stages.

The Game Plan

Start with giving. Some classic examples include Howling Mine and Meekstone, but the real presents are the token creatures.They usually last long enough to get you a few Zedruu triggers before they die (for die they will).

Next is a focus on defense. Try to have a Ghostly Prison effect on at all times to discourage people from sending hate your way.

You might need to borrow some things from your opponents, so there's a suite of copy and temporary theft effects. Partly doubles as counterspell protection.

As stated, the focus of the deck is on token production. Mostly soldiers, some pegasi. They can be used for combat (in fact, I would encourage that), but their main purpose in this deck is twofold: enabling your primary win conditions.

First is Mirrorweave. In the late game, at least some of your opponents should have an awesome creature or two. Even a mediocre creature will do, as long as it's better than a 1/1 token (which is why I included Psychosis Crawler). You should be able to close out the game through combat if no other avenues are forthcoming.

Second is Vicious Shadows. There's a lot of symmetrical draw effects in the deck, so your opponents' hands should be stacked and you should have lots of creatures on hand to die to boardwipes and spot removal.
