The Build

MAINBOARD

Creatures

• Brain Maggot - hand disruption plus early game chump
• Chasm Skulker- the star of the deck. this creature can get huge and provides a huge problem if not dealt with immediately.
• Desecration Demon- a staple in any black deck. big body with some board control attached
• Hypnotic Siren- gets me through the early game, but more importantly, she's great against the big creatures that are starting to appear
• Indulgent Tormentor - along the same lines as Desecration Demon, but this time, i get to draw

Other

• Bident of Thassa- this is useful for getting damage through and provides a bonus to attacking.
• Dissolve- blue = counter spells, right?
• Hero's Downfall- eliminates threats
• Military Intelligence- once again, card advantage
• Thoughtseize- hand disruption. it also gives me a heads up to what i will be facing
• Ultimate Price - kill spell
• Underworld Connections- great if the game stalls. the ping is negligible

SIDEBOARD

• Dissipate- for extra creature protection if that becomes a problem
• Drown in Sorrow- if faced against hyper aggro
• Elixir of Immortality- in case i face mill or the games stalls so i deck myself...
• Phyrexian Revoker- the new Pithing Needle that can also shut down mana dorks
• Prognostic Sphinx - this can replace Desecration Demon if i face a mirror match.
• Ratchet Bomb- to combat some aggro stuff

ALTERNATIVES

• Pack Rat can replace Brain Maggot if you find that you have an extreme excess of cards and the games are dragging out longer
• Read the Bones can replace Underworld Connections if enchantment hate becomes prevalent
• Doom Blade can replace Ultimate Price depending on the colors of creatures in your meta
• Erebos, God of the Dead. this guy might find replace Underworld Connections as a good draw engine, but the life cost is a bit problematic. we'll see if khans brings us some goodies
