Budget. That's why.

Like your choice of cards and low budget.

Splinter for the sideboard against monocolored, maybe? Liquimetal Coating a basic land and exiling it with Splinter is the greatest feeling ever!

Nice budget deck! I like it +1 :D

lanimilbuS good call. I'll defintely shove that in my sideboard. The good thing about that is that it cost 4 manna, so hopefully I would be able to keep that at bay for a while.

Thanks Matth33w for that!

I would definitely think about Ancient Stirrings to help you dig for the liquid metal coating.

I have a similar deck I've been tweaking for awhile if you'd like to check it out:

[email protected] great suggestion. I added a couple in there. That will really help! Also, your link didn't work.

Wtf? This isn't land destruction... This is artifact destruction!!!

TheMTGartifact Liquimetal Coating turns any permanent into an artifact. Therefore it becomes a land destruction deck with the ability to destroy creatures as well.

If you feel like you're not drawing Liquimetal Coating consistently enough, you could always add Myr Landshaper as a backup!

Like the budget Land Destruction deck, nice work. I would suggest Deus of Calamity They're about $2 each so not too steep on price and worth it!

why not Tin Street Hooligan instead of Manic Vandal?

LIVEFORCHAOS according to the rules that I looked up, Echoing Ruin won't work the same as Splinter as its searching for other artifacts. I guess it's the wording but if what I found is wrong then I will defintely be adding that. As far as Gleeful Sabotage goes, I may try and squeeze it in. Looks pretty good for this deck. Thanks!

PreZchoICE1 great suggestion, he is a little bit cheaper than another card I had in there so I replaced him with those and also replaced it for two Manic Vandals. Thanks for that.

have you thought of using Nature's Claim? 1 mana to do what you wanna do sounds good to me.

+1 for showing me cards I didn't know exist, that Splinter + Liquimetal Coating is straight up evil. I'd recommend Naturalize in case enchantments become an issue, sideboard?

smackder says... #19

Shame that Liquimetal Coating is an artifact otherwise you could use Creeping Corrosion.

smackder yeah, I couldn't find a way around that one, lol. Would have been nice though. I also will be adding Deus of Calamity to the deck too. I'm thinking about swapping it for Acidic Slime, just not sure what that will look like in real play.

plusmental thanks for the plus one! The thing with enchantments is that they're permanents, so I can just tap my Liquimetal Coating and destroy the enchantment if needed. I've played a few games with this deck so far and my opponents haven't gotten past 3 mana... And then 0 in a few more turns. So although enchantments may become an issue, they won't stay one. At least from what I've seen so far.

I know you said you wanted to take planeswalkers out, but run Ajani Vengeant for his ultimate.

Don't really like Artisan of Kozilek. Unless I missed something, it's dead a draw far too often.
