This is an elephant-themed deck for the Modern format
Introduction
This is a casual deck. While I want it to be as viable as possible, make no mistake. I'm aware that this could never compete against legitimate modern decks, and there is no intention to play this at a modern tournament. It would be blown away.

combo serves as one of the win conditions, the other being to simply protect token generators and flood the field with an overwhelming amount of elephants. Parallel Lives and several non-infinite-combo token generators can still create a respectably large herd, providing an alternative to putting all our eggs in the infinite combo basket.
Utility
Counterspells serve to stall out the game, protect the infinite combo until it is fully assembled, to interfere with the opponent's win condition(s) and to, in the event the infinite combo is no longer feasible, protect token generators to maintain field pressure. I've won pretty often (Again, non-competitively) even without the combo with the strategy of just spamming 3/3s and defending them. The fact we can eventually spam elephants without spending mana means we can conserve mana to cast counterspells to protect our herd from board wipes, spot removal and other nasties.
Mana Ramp
To kick the deck off, mana ramp in the form of Llanowar Elves and Joraga Treespeaker allows the deck to either put constant pressure out or assemble the infinite combo. If both of these are impossible, it at least gives us mana to use counterspells. If we can't make progress, we'll try our best to make sure they can't either.
