Working on a Mardu midrange deck for modern, built around the dynamic interactions of Lingering Souls + Monastery Mentor + Young Pyromancer .

All of the threats can produce tons of value if they're allowed to stick: Dark Confidant, Young Pyromancer, Monastery Mentor & Lingering Souls. Souls has a nice synergy with Mentor and Pyromancer, being creatures on a spell as well as being 2 spells in one card. Those interactions can often let you set up a swarm out of nowhere with a very small card investment. Crackling Doom helps the removal suite, backing up Path to Exile as an extra answer to fatties like Goyf, Tasigur, Rhino, Prime Time & Wurmcoil, and conveniently can be cast for some damage even on an empty board. Fun Fact: Crackling Doom, unlike Liliana, ignores Leyline of Sanctity (say, in G2 vs boggles).

Looking for build suggestions to make this as competitively viable as possible, will post updates after some testing.

Also looking for some SB tech if anyone has any; one of the post-board options I'd like to keep open is taking a shift towards control bringing in Angers, Elspeth & Batterskull.

Also, need a better plan against Burn & Affinity
