Almost everything in this deck is something that benefits from being replayed or sacrificed. With a heavy control package, you can take the board Hostage with controlled board wipes with little to no repercussion to you because of the value Muldrotha, the Gravetide brings. I will be going over the key cards and areas of utility that allow you to do this. I kept out infinite combos as the point behind the deck was to out value your opponents and not combo off. I hope you enjoy the deck and as always, any suggestions are always welcome.

Key Cards

Mesmeric Orb This card will do two things: make your strategy of milling yourself go ballistic as well as disrupt a lot of other decks in the process.

Perpetual Timepiece This is another self mill card but with the added benefit of protection from graveyard hate and protection from decking yourself. Essentially it’s draw two extra cards per turn as your graveyard is almost an extension of your hand with muldrotha.

Mystic Remora “Did you pay four for that?” The answer is Almost always no. Draw cards and ignore the cumulative upkeep by replaying it every turn.

Spore Frog Do you have a friend that plays aggro? This little fluff frog on a stick is your perfect counter and is very hard to get rid of.

Free Sacrifice Outlets Ashnod's Altar, Altar of Dementia, Viscera Seer, Phyrexian Tower The decks main goal is to replay everything so having that sacrifice engine is going to be really important to continually get the ETB and LTB triggers happening every turn. Add some edict effects to the sacrifice and now you are stripping opponents of creatures as well.

Command Beacon Probably the best land in this deck. With Muldrotha essentially acting like a Crucible of Worlds, you can sacrifice Command beacon everytime you need to replay muldrotha and replay on that turn to continually get around Command tax. Very powerful in this deck.

Contamination Another cumulative upkeep card that really over performs in the deck. If you are playing people who aren’t playing Black, you can hard lock people out of the game. You play all of your stuff and finish off your second main with this.

Bear Umbra provides protection from other removal and your own board wipes as well as ramps and makes for very explosive turns by allowing you to use your lands twice. Then, replay it once The aura is destroyed. I am never unhappy to see this card come up.

Ramp/ Card Draw

Myriad Landscape a land that lets you fetch for two lands when you sacrifice it and it’s repeatable.

World Shaper With the amount of self mill and card draw, you can easily fill your graveyard with lands, sac Worldshaper and get all of them on the field. This Is a very powerful effect that you can repeat once your self mill engine really starts to take off.

Harrow With muldrotha it is essentially free, before you play your land for turn, play harrow sacrificing one you just tapped, put two basics on to the battle field untapped only to brink back the land you just sacrificed. synergizes very well with Bojuka Bog to exile multiple graveyards.

Sakura-Tribe Elder Easily one of the staples of this deck. Cheap to play and has it’s own way of sacrificing itself for free. Then you look for a land. A powerful repeated effect.

Solemn Simulacrum Card draw + Mana Ramp, a staple in the deck

Burnished Hart grab two basic lands for 3 then if you need more ramp, play it again. Similar to Solemn only no card draw. Still a useful repeated effect

Mulldrifter Play it from your graveyard for its evoke cost. Draw two extra cards every turn.

Mind Stone Tap for mana or tap to draw cards and again replay it as you need to.

Mana Rocks I picked the biggest ones, Sol Ring, Gilded Lotus, Thran Dynamo you want to create as much mana as possible so you can get as much value from muldrotha each turn while still having the gas to keep your deck going.

Basalt Monolith Tap for three, or pair with Mesmeric Orb or World Shaper to fill your graveyard with all the rudeness of land to dump on the battle field.

Control Package/ Removal

Pernicious Deed A repeatable board wipe that you control what lives and what dies. Token swarm deck? Feel free to board wipe for 0 cmc you can play it right back

Contamination As mentioned before it’s one of the best cards in the deck. Not only are you controlling the board state but also what colors and the amount of mana produced as well. Feel free to play on the end of your second main and lock nonblack players out of the game. You didn’t want friends, right?

Oblivion Stone Like Pernicious Deed this Card that can hold the board hostage. Benefit of this is being able to save the important stuff.

Faceless Butcher + Free Sac Outlet trigger manipulation with this.

Faceless enters the battlefield causing its ETB to go on the stack

While that trigger is on the stack, sacrifice Faceless with your free sac outlet.

First ability hits the battlefield exiling a creature.

Since there Faceless isn’t on the field second ability doesn’t see it as it leaving the battlefield exiling it permanently. (Important detail is that it doesn’t have memory of what it’s exiled. Keep replaying this turn after turn) Also just nice to have as a temporary target for hate if you take something big of theirs.

Decree of Silence very rude card. Cycle it if you need a quick counter spell and have the mana or hard cast it to take control of the board with 3 free counter spells. Then feel free to replay it when it sacrifices itself.

Forbid and other counter spells. I mention Forbid specifically because having a counter spell you can buy back by putting cards in your grave yard, something the deck wants to do, is very good and abusable.

Dictate of Erebos got that friend that plays those pesky indestructible creatures, make him/ her sacrifice them! :D and with all the sac effects, this can get out of hand fast.

Ravenous Chupacabra this one is pretty self explanatory based on the other cards and what this deck wants to do. Play it, sacrifice it, repeat. Removal every turn.

Win Cons

So this is where it’s gets fun. The idea is to win by out valuing your opponents, milling them slowly and you can even beat them down with little pokes of damage as well and using their own win cons against them.

Mesmeric Orb as the game progresses and more mana gets used, the more things get milled. Very fun card and VERY disruptive if the other decks don’t have recursion

Villainous Wealth Low Key, I came up with the idea for this deck because of wanting to reuse this card and steal other people’s win cons as insult to injury. When paired with Kruphix, God of Horizons this gets absurd.

Phenax, God of Deception tap to mill out your opponents or mill yourself for what is essentilly card draw.

Removal plus value It’s slow, it’s grindy and your friends will hate it. But this deck does it very well once you get the engine going grind the game out until you hit a win con or punch your opponent enough to win.

Conclusion

You will notice a lot of cumulative upkeep and sac effects to grind the game to slow crawl while you set up what you want and hold the board hostage with threatened board wipes. I only have one infinite combo in here to fill my grave yard up with all of my important cards to keep them accessible. I use this as a way to get every toolbox piece available while keeping the grindy, controlling feel to the deck. Any and all suggestions are welcome.

Updates Add

Finally got around to adding some cards I have been looking at after I moved. Dropped Seedborn Muse and Clone to add Jace's Archivist and Body Double adds more grave yard synergy and mill/discard/ graveyard filling power.
