Warning: One Liner Ahead!

Why Torbran?

In EDH/Commander format we Life is a resource. Taking 8 damage to draw extra two for Sylvan Library, Paying X amount of Life for Necropotence, Paying life for Fetch lands and Shocks lands are nothing and so on. Paying life just to get ahead is good. But Torbran, Thane of Red Fell with builds your opponents may not be so willing to pay life that generously.

The enchantment Impatience maybe lousy for a point of damage but with Torbran in play will get them the point. Power Surge combine the Citadel of Pain , opponents might not be so comfortable having open manas, the End and at the Beginning of each of their turns. These combination in play, If they tap their mana to avoid, some shenanigans from other opponents maybe expected. This will cause disruption on their plans. You on the other-hand just compute the damage.

Most of the Creatures on this deals Splash damage - as I would call it. They will not mind when you cast your low cmc defenders : Spear Spewer , Lightning-Rig Crew & Brimstone Trebuchet until Tobran hits the table. If played correctly, creatures like the Dagger Caster and spells like Pyroclasm will act like a pseudo-creature boardwipe.

Don'f forget your hidden commander - Heartless Hidetsugu , with or with the dwarf when you resolved this ogre watch the table cringe.

The Dwarf and the Ogre will be most likely targeted by spot removals so they also need protection equip them with Lightning Greaves
