Overview

Yosei goes to the graveyard, tap one player down. Yosei goes to the graveyard three times in one turn, soft lock everyone out. Try to slow things down with targeted removal, board wipes, the occasional commander death trigger, and assemble the softo-combo lock of a Yosei lock on each player. All the classic white infinite combos are in there for the win, and a healthy amount of repeatable recursion making it fairly resilient.

Yosei is often great just being left on the field as long as possible, rattlesnake, nuke, giving immediate political power. Commander kills are very doable, but really requires focusing one player from the start. The deck has a good amount of land ramp to try get Yosei out reliably out turn 5.

Multiple Use

Adarkar Valkyrie - Expensive resurrection and needs to stay on the field for a full turn to work. Good part of a lockdown engine. Also good for stealing opponents creatures.

Angelic Renewal - Useful as a one off renewal or can be looped with Sun Titan and a sac outlet (Altar of Dementia, Blasting Station)

Cauldron of Souls - All round useful, can be used the turn it come down to bring any creature with a good ETB and Yosei. Great for getting multiple uses out of Yosei per turn

Emeria, The Sky Ruin - Once it gets going this card is a powerhouse. A lot of the land ramp and tutors help you get there with the seven plains Planar Birth, Solemn Simulacrum, Land Tax, Weathered Wayfarer. Often second land tutor (after High Market)

Emeria Shepherd - Another high cmc, the effect is almost worth it though, any nonland permanent can bring back any of the win-combos from the graveyard

Yomiji, Who Bars the Way - Partly because it's another on theme Kamigawa spirit, infinite combo with Deathrender and either Yosei , or any for real jank Mangara of Corondor and Thousand-Year Elixir/ Lightning Greaves

Reveillark - Eighteen targets, bringing back any two is a deal. Combo with Karmic Guide

Vesperlark - Ten targets, only needs to recur a combo piece and powerhouse piece once or twice to be worth it.

Gift of Immortality - More of less a wincon, once you get this on Yosei and have a repeatable sac outlet on the field it's a pretty solid, jelly soft lock. Combo and loop with Sun Titan and a repeatable sac outlet (Altar of Dementia, Blasting Station) as an alt wincon.

Karmic Guide - Bring back any creature is powerful and a great reanimation target itself. Combo with Sun Titan and Reveillark among others. Works well with Lifeline.

Lifeline - Another part of a soft lock. If you have a sac outlet out and a creature you can get a Yosei trigger on each of your opponents turns as well as your own.

Loyal Retainers - In a bind works as a one off resurrection of Yosei, but can be a part of various infinite loops with Karmic Guide etc. to recur Yosei.

Mistveil Plains - If resurrection isn't working, activate this and using the commander replacement effect put Yosei in the command zone and cast him again.

Pulsemage Advocate - Does serious work - 10/10. The drawback of returning cards isn't even an issue with Yosei as if you can sacrifice the commander again, they'll have to discard the cards at their end step anyway. Able to be used in a soft lock easily. Plus just a cool card.

Second Sunrise - Either a one off resurrection for Yosei, or useful after a mass boardwipe Hour of Revelation

Sigil of the New Dawn - Useful if you have no resurrection and need your creatures back. Good for creatures with ETBs, but two mana can feel a lot.

Sun Titan - Brings back any permanent including lands if your key lands have been blown up. Wincon with Gift of Immortality/Angelic Renewal & Altar of Dementia/Blasting Station

One Off Resurrection spells

There are no one-off Resurrection spells in this deck; although they're helpful in returning Yosei from the graveyard if stuck, they don't help the game plan of setting up a soft-lock loop. The deck does play three one-off resurrection spells which recur most permanents; these can act as one off recursion for Yosei but also recovery from board wipes - which this deck runs a few.

Faith's Reward Second Sunrise Brought Back

Free & repeatable

These are as key/if not more so than the recursion pieces; a well timed death trigger, or saving a creature from an unwanted exile spell. Would love to add Phyrexian Altar but $$$

Ashnod's Altar - On demand sacrifice is perfect, two mana is pretty good too.

Altar of Dementia - Free sacrifice dream again, milling yourself is often the best option, stacking it with good recursion targets.

Martyr's Cause - On top of the free sac, the damage prevention comes in handy a fair amount.

Blasting Station - Wincon with Sun Titan, Angelic Renewal etc. Repeatable if used in a Yosei loop lock, but cant sac the whole board on demand.
