Casual Wednesdays at Comic Quest in El Toro, CA. I ran my T2 Yin Yang tokens. The deck did extremely well. I went 5-2-1 for all games played, and went 2-1-1 overall.
Match 1: Won game 1 handily against a Saproling spammer deck cause I got 2 Oblivion Rings on the draw and ringed all his token generators. Game 2 he boarded a couple naturalize so it was a race to the finish. We went to turns and tied the game. Stalling tactics for the win...er....draw.
1-0-1
Match 2 I played against a poor RDW deck and won both games quickly. He was completely mana starved both games, and I on the other hand had a dream game with a turn 1 champion of the parish, turn 3 lingering souls, turn 4 flashback lingering souls. He had 2 mana at turn 6 and I was just continually advancing my board presence and he was summoning cheap creatures to chump block my Champ.
3-0-1
Match 3 I played a white deck which attempted to leverage a Serra Avatar and a lot of lifegain. The player was extremely new (didn't know you could double block, etc) and continually tapped himself out letting me just swing for the fences on every attack. He managed to get Serra Avatar out once, when he was at 5 HP. He managed to get to ~5 or 6 mana every time but wouldn't get that vital seventh.
5-0-1
Match 4: Final match and I'm up against this guy Eugene from my home store: Magic and Monsters. He kicks my ass normally and today was no different. He ran a white weenie deck and pre-game sided in 3 Swords of War and Peace. Both games I got crushed, I needed more artifact removal and more luck to draw the nighthawk or stuffy doll I boarded in.
Final: 5-2-1. Placement: 5th overall. Top 4 were: Infect, Infect, White Weenie Swords of DOOM, and an obnoxious blue mill deck featuring 4 copies of Jace.
