Double Strike! Don't pay full cost of spells! Unblockable! Scry! Top-deck Manipulation! Evoke! All of these and more, if you want to bash face with Yidris. The idea is to make him unblockable and/or give him double strike, and then cheat out spells. The expertise's are quite nice as they get you 4 spells for 1. The subtheme I have for the deck is punishing your opponents for doing... anything. You're not stopping them, just getting lovely triggers off of them doing anything at all (inspired by my friend's Rakdos deck).

The reason I chose the direction I did with the deck is because I noticed some fun group Slug Cards like Ruric Thar, Sire of Stagnation, and Kaervek were all in colors I liked, and it seems like a fun play style. I've also been itching to build a Yidris deck for a while, so I found the best group slug cards and started there. Then I asked myself, what does Yidris like? Top deck manipulation, hence the Scry lands from Theros. They allow you to fix not just your colors, but the top of your deck for cascade. The same goes for Aqeuous form. Then I realized that Cascade really likes cheating costs, and the evoke creatures are really good in commander, so it's a perfect match as cascade doesn't care about the evoke price, so Ingot Chewer is essentially 1 mana cascade 4 cmc. It's the same reason I added the appropriate familiars for the deck, as well as delve cards.

For ramp, I tried adding it at the CMC 1 and 2 level, so that I cast Yidris on turn 3, swing on turn 4.\

There are a few staples I think go in any Yidris deck, such as Savage Beating. Not only is it a good name, but you can get cascade cascade cascade cascade after it resolves. That sounds fun. Maelstrom wanderer is along the same veign. I also threw in some unblockable/scry like thassa, and other double strike effects.

Each utility land was picked specifially, because you can't have tons of colorless lands in a 4 color deck. They all pretty much help Yidris.
