A U/R midrange-tempo deck that exploits Wizard spell synergy, with cards such as Sage's Dousing and Stonybrook Banneret. Having Goblin Electromancer + Stonybrook Banneret on the battlefield allows the deck to chain together Manamorphose + Snapcaster Mage for free, ticking up Stormchaser Mage and ticking down Thing in the Ice  . Opponents must deal with both the threats and the enablers, which can be very difficult when you maintain a strong tempo advantage. Pyromancer Ascension also gives the deck that extra reach to combo out and kill the opponent.

Card choices

As I filled out the initial list, I ping-ponged between a Delver list with Snapcaster Mage and Serum Visions, and a Storm list with Goblin Electromancer and Manamorphose. This deck aims to fall comfortably between those two archetypes, by topping off with the threats Pyromancer Ascension, Stormchaser Mage, and Thing in the Ice  .

• Pyromancer Ascension
  Enables crazy combos with Goblin Electromancer + Manamorphose , and turns Lightning Bolt into a lethal threat.
• Thing in the Ice  
  A looming threat that can easily flip on turn 5; 4 if your opponent allows you to resolve a Goblin Electromancer + Manamorphose chain. Regardless, it's one more permanent the opponent needs to deal with eventually, and the 0/4 body is also a handy blocker.
• Stormchaser Mage
  An early attacker to apply pressure on the opponent. Chips away at their life total while you prepare a chain of spells to finish them off.

A typical URx Ascension list would run cards like Visions of Beyond and Faithless Looting, for additional draw. Here, the benefit of playing Wizards shines, since Sage's Dousing and Stream of Unconsciousness draws you a card, and you have the Snapcaster Mage for additional value.
