Yawgmoth, Thran Physician is no doubt one of the best sac outlets ever printed. His first ability not only gives you a card for a small price of 1 life and sacrificing another creature but you also get to throw another creature a -1/-1 counter that can weaken or kill it. His second ability, proliferate, is not used so much by this deck but under the right circumstances it can also be really strong.

Aim of this deck is to control the board by summoning Yawgmoth and deal out -1/-1 counters to creatures your opponents control by sacrificing your fodder creatures (Endrek Sahr, Master Breeder is INSANE value with Yawgmoth and Nest of Scarabs is almost broken with him). You can either keep opponents' creatures off the board and run through with your creatures, or you can drain them off their life by comboing undying creatures with Yawgmoth's -1/-1 counters and effects from Vindictive Vampire or Bastion of Remembrance. Another funny way to win is to play Ichor Rats and start proliferating the counters opponents get.

Weaknesses of this deck are that it's not high on recursion or non-creature removal. Usually I've not had need for removal when I keep sacking creatures and drawing cards, the -1/-1 counters have turned out to be quite effective way to control the board. Also my philosophy with the deck not having much recursion is based on flavor that Yawgmoth does not care for the stuff that ends up in the graveyard: he gets the use he needs and is done with it then.

Also I am on purpose not playing many tutor effects in this deck 'coss otherwise winning would feel too easy if I could always search for the combo pieces. It would also make the matches feel too same. By excluding cards like Demonic Tutor, Diabolic Tutor, Diabolic Intent, Vampiric Tutor I make room for other cards I would not normally play in my decks and it makes this deck feel different from my other decks that have black mana in them.

This deck originally was supposed to focus around the wither mechanic but much of the time that did not do anything since I ended up not attacking much with my creatures. I could return to it by rebuilding some parts of the deck differently or if it gets more support in the future.

Neat tricks you can do with this deck:
