This is my attempt at a Heroic hoplite deck in Modern. After Thero's rotation out of Standard, Heroic has struggled to see play in Modern. The amount of strong and fast removal in Modern makes this deck vulnerable, but I'm stubborn and I like the Theros theme.

It is a very linear deck similar to Bogles. Except these creatures have to be actively protected with Gods Willing and Emerge Unscathed

I have recently updated this deck.

I have 8 protection spells to trigger heroic but more importantly keep my Hoplites alive against moderns notorious removal.

4 of them smooth draws Gods Willing , Emerge Unscathed gives two turns of specified protection and also potential evasion.

So I figure; 2 creatures with built in evasion (Skyguard), 2 Aqueous Form to give evasion as an aura and 3 View from Above to give consistent evasion and heroic triggers, as it will ALWAYS return to hand since all of my creatures are either white or white/blue.And 3 Slip through space for heroic trigger, one turn evasion and card draw. Too bad it's at sorcery speed.

9 evasion sources 8 protection sources (which also can double as evasion in a pinch, although it's probably better to keep them handy)
