A feasible method to generate enough mana, and a way to find Hermit Druid
Start: , Hermit Druid in play.

, Activate Hermit Druid.

2 Life: Flashback Noxious Revival: Return Dualcaster Mage to top of library.

: Flashback Manamorphose: Add , draw Dualcaster Mage.

: Flashback Twinflame targeting HD (or anything, really).

: Cast Dualcaster Mage in response, copy Twinflame with ETB, copy of Twinflame copies Dualcaster Mage, repeat for infinite copies of Dualcaster Mage with haste.

-Are you sure you're not just jamming Druid randomly into the deck?

-I understand its 7 mana,but we're talking about the difference between 7 and 9 mana.

These were some questions I received on the cEDH reddit.I will address them here.

Outside of its ability to really beat down life totals, R/G has two main qualites; creature tutoring and ramp.When i first started considering Hermit Druid as the main wincon, I saw it as more assessible than the traditional win con of Tooth and Nail into Kiki-Conscripts, for two reasons.

First of all, Hermit Druid only needs a single creature tutor and enough mana. (Credits to sonnet666 for brewing up this line.)) By varying the number of tutors in the deck, it can be made more assessible. As compared to Tooth and Nail, there is no real way to find it, outside of Gamble.

Secondly, why wait for 9 mana when you can win at 7 mana?

Currently considering: , Flashback Krosan Reclamation, putting Dualcaster Mage into the empty library.

Draw it on next turn, then Recoup a Twinflame.

Idk yet, probably not great.

Protean Hulk + sac outlet, into Dryad Arbor + Hellraiser Goblin + Feldon of the Third Path.

Copy Protean Hulk (requires ) and sac again, into 3 1CMC mana dorks and Combat Celebrant.

Go to combat and exert Combat Celebrant. (Remember that everything not tapped will need to attack, and Hellraiser Goblin needs to survive combat, so 1 opponent has to be open.)

Use your dorks and Feldon to copy Combat Celebrant, go to next combat and exert.

Repeat until you have a lot of Combat Celebrant's. Note that once you have more than two, activating Feldon is unnecessary for infinite combats, so you can reanimate Protean Hulk again to get creatures that will clear away any blockers your opponents might have.

Protean Hulk into Dryad Arbor + Hermit Druid + Hellraiser Goblin + Tinder Wall.

From that line, we can use the mana from Dryad Arbor and the dork to activate HD, which will result into the Past in Flames line from graveyard.

  • Cleaning up the HD plan to a leaner mana requirement if possible

  • A way to win without attacking.

  • Protection

  • Resilence and Flexibility if possible.
