Wonder Woman Deck

Our Wonder Woman will be the amazing...

Sisay, Weatherlight Captain!

But WHY??? She is:
  • A Leader (CAPTAIN)
  • Beautiful (Come on, have you seen Gal Gadot? The two have several physical similarities
  • Wields a sword!
  • And fits to color combination I need for the deck....

This deck will feature cameos from Wonder Woman's lore, that I am hoping cross over into Sisay's lore as well. While we have these flavor cards, I will try to keep the deck functional and mostly on a $250 (US) budget (because my Batman and Superman decks were way out of my budget and it makes me sad). Some card (Looking at you, Bloom Tender) are expensive, but I already have one or two in my collection.. but for the most part, I'll need to stay away from such expensive cards.
Our main strategy will be to build an Amazon army (Soldiers/Warriors) and go wide, but we will have some help from the Justice league and the Greek Pantheon of Gods and Goddesses.
Let's Begin

Roll Call!

Can't have Wonder Woman without Steve Trevor... who seems to fit in with Gerrard, Weatherlight Hero... mostly. Gerrard actually loved Hanna in the Magic Lore, but he also help Sisay hunt down things of great historical purpose (Like maybe a God of War) and ended up being a Hero at the end of the movie. So for me, he is our Steve

Our Justice league will have a few people in attendance today. First is the Dark Knight, Kenrith, the Returned King. For an explanation, see my other deck, Batman, the Returned King (Link may not work because the deck is still in progress and set to private). Superman will be there, too, Progenitus, also see Superman, Man of Steel. We will also bring The Flash and Cyborg (Kari Zev, Skyship Raider and Solemn Simulacrum, respectively.. also explained in Superman, Man of Steel).

Our Greek Pantheon will be a bit simplified, focusing on the 5 mono colored Gods....

But WAIT! Where's the fifth color??? Right here: Ares, God of War is Purphoros, God of the Forge, just as we had in the movie, he'll be here to cause some nasty damage to the world (other players).

Wonder woman needs her cool equipment...

  • Her Sword, the God Killer, is Godsend
  • Her indestructible bracelets are Vulshok Gauntlets. This also adds Power to Sisay to allow us to search for higher CMC cards.
  • The Invisible jet (which did not make it into the movie) is, of course, the Weatherlight
  • The shield she weilds is Shield of Kaldra
  • The Lasso of Truth will have be the Whip of Erebos, I'm not happy I couldn't find a better lasso/whip in Magic, but it is a very helpful card in the long run.

Assembling the Amazons

We will need to build an army of tokens to either: 1, Go wide and attack with everything. 2. Trigger Ares (Who is Purphoros) with a bunch of tokens. Or, 3, Win with Epic Struggle. Here is what we will use to build our Amazonian Army...

Final Thought

I think that does it for flavor in the deck. The rest may just be cards to make things work right. The budget says I can't add much more so I guess I'll need to stop here anyway. The section of "Commander Synergies" is primarily making Sisay more useful with her activated ability. In order to use that ability we need Sisay to get larger (Batman/Kenrith, the Returned King can help with that, and we need WUBRG. I hope you enjoyed the deck and all the cool flavor it has!
