The full moon is rising. Soon, your enemies will truly know what horrors lie beneath the skin. YOU control this army half men, half beasts. Summon your humans to the battlefield, and watch your opponents scramble to stop their transformation. By the time the moon rises, their hands will be empty, and they will be unable to stop your massive creatures.

Red Werewolves

  • Village Messenger   is a 1/1 with haste, which may seem no more than convenient, but is a great way to begin putting pressure on your opponents.

  • Geier Reach Bandit   is a great way to catch opponents off-guard. Its human form has haste, and once it turns into the Vildin-Pack Alpha   , it allows you to transform any new werewolves you play immediately.

  • Breakneck Rider   has a good amount of power and toughness to keep opponents busy. Once it transforms into the Neck Breaker   , it gives all of your attacking creatures trample, which can help finish the game strong.

  • Vildin-Pack Outcast   can keep an opponent busy for a bit, but the Dronepack Kindred is devastating. You can pay one colorless mana to give it +1/+0 until the end of the turn, and this ability can be activated multiple times in one turn. Its like the creature equivalent of Fireball.

Green Werewolves

  • Duskwatch Recruiter   is a nice way to speed up the tempo of your deck. You can use its ability to try to get some creatures into your hand, and once it transforms into the Krallenhorde Howler , those creatures will cost one less to cast.

  • Lambholt Pacifist   can be a great defensive wall on turns two and three, and can be especially worrisome once it transforms into the Lambholt Butcher   .

  • Hermit of the Natterknolls   takes advantage of opponents who try to play instants on your turn in order to transform your werewolves back to their human forms. Whenever an opponent plays a card on your turn, this creature allows you to draw a card, and the Lone Wolf of the Natterknolls   allows you to draw two.

  • Tangleclaw Werewolf   is quite the frustrating defender. In its normal form, it can block two creatures at the same time. Once transformed into the Fibrous Entangler   , it gets the added bonus of having vigilance and forcing an opponent to block it whenever it attacks.

Gold Werewolves

  • Arlinn Kord   is a great planeswalker to add to this deck. She can use her ultimate in four turns, and buffs up your creatures all the meanwhile. Her ultimate allows your creatures to simply tap to deal damage to specific targets, instead of rushing into combat themselves.

  • Ulrich of the Krallenhorde   is a legendary creature that works very well with the werewolf transformation strategy. Each time its front-side is revealed (including when it is first played), it gives a creature +4/+4 until the end of the turn, and each time its back-side is revealed, it can immediately fight any creature you choose. Those abilities plus the 4/4 and 6/6 power and toughness make this card an extremely heavy hitter.

Red Noncreature Spells

  • Spiteful Motives is a great card for messing with the mathematics of combat. If an opponent tries to intimidate you by attacking with a creature much too large to block, add this to a creatures using its flash, and it should be enough to take the other creature down without losing one of your own.

  • Savage Alliance is a versatile card that can deal quick damage to your opponent's creatures and give all of yours trample for a turn.

  • Uncaged Fury is a great card for offensive play. It can suddenly give one of your creatures double strike, and either destroy an opponent's creature before it can damage yours or deal massive damage directly to your opponent.

Green Noncreature Spells

  • Woodcutter's Grit can get your creatures out of almost any situation. Just got blocked by a larger creature? Someone trying to Murder it? Need just a couple more damage to finish your opponent off? This card has you covered.

  • Howlpack Resurgence is an enchantment that gives all wolves and werewolves +1/+1 and trample. It also has flash, so it can be used to upset the balance in combat.

  • Moonlight Hunt can deal a ridiculous amount of damage to an enemy creature with instant speed and precision.

Sideboard

  • Kessig Forgemaster   to replace Village Messenger   / This card would be a good addition when going up against weenie decks. Its human form will be able to combat creatures with a tougness of one without touching them, and the Flameheart Werewolf   will be able to do the same with creatures with a toughness of two.

  • Sage of Ancient Lore   to replace Lambholt Pacifist   / Nothing says screw you to tempo decks quite like a creature that feeds off of everyone's hand size at one time. This guy would work wonders in a multiplayer match as well.

  • Neglected Heirloom   to replace Woodcutter's Grit and Skin Invasion   / Neglected Heirloom   is a great cheap equipment to play early game, but it has a little secret. Whenever the equipped creature transforms, so does Neglected Heirloom   . Because the card is an equipment, you don't have to "cast" another spell, and you can equip it to a creature on your turn without stopping them from transforming.

  • Spirit of the Hunt to replace Hermit of the Natterknolls   / This card is great for catching opponents off guard during their combat phase. Play this guy using its flash, and your creatures' toughness will get a big boost. Plus, this card can be played at any time on any turn, meaning you can play him strategically to try to encourage your werewolves to transform.

  • Ulrich's Kindred to replace Breakneck Rider   / This card is great for supporting your other creatures. Just between the blocking step and the damage step, you can use this guy to give indestructible to any creatures you're about to lose.
