This is a concept deck of mine that I've been working on for about a month now. It's gone through many iterations, and this is the most recent one.
This was taken from a
Skred
shell and I splashed black for
Dead of Winter
.
The main win-con is
Karn, the Great Creator
and
Liquimetal Coating
. That along with
Pack Rat
.
Chandra, Torch of Defiance
is good card advantage and can be a fast clock.
Chandra, Acolyte of Flame
synergises well with both, allowing them to ultimate the second turn they are out.
Outside of that, you can get a ton of value flashing back removal like
Anger of the Gods
or hand disruption like
Inquisition of Kozilek
. If you have an opponent locked out with
Blood Moon
the +0 option that makes two 1/1's sets a decent clock.
The removal package is mostly sorcery speed, but that's not usually an issue. The goal of the removal package is to buy time to resolve our own threats.
Anger of the Gods
is good against decks that play
Kolaghan's Command
or
Unearth
, as it exiles their creatures.
Dead of Winter
can remove things as big as Eldrazi easily.
Lightning Bolt
is very flexible and paired with
Dreadbore
are two of our only ways of dealing with opponent's Planeswalkers.
Skred
is a classic removal spell for snow decks.
Collective Brutality
is flexible, allowing us to
Duress
, remove a creature, and gain life in just one card.
---SIDEBOARD---
The sideboard includes a very normal
Karn, the Great Creator
wish board. Against Tron, I find it more efficient to board in both
Damping Sphere
s.
Ashiok, Dream Render
completely shuts down greedy mana bases and
Valakut, the Molten Pinnacle
.
Leyline of Sanctity
might be a bit cute, but against burn it's a must have, as I've found it to be this decks most difficult matchup.
Pillage
is an easy shoe in if you don't know what to sideboard in, it punishes cards like
Utopia Sprawl
and removes weird combo lands like
Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx
.
Stormbreath Dragon
is a good card against UWx control, it survives
Fatal Push
,
Path to Exile
, and a lot of other relevant removal in the format. Typically opponents will board out all their removal, and the only spell
Stormbreath Dragon
is really afraid of is
Dismember
or
Celestial Purge
, which comes in often against
Blood Moon
.
