Description

Alternate/old title: Populate Mountains, Accidental Infinite Combos

  • The best combo in this deck of combos is to get Thornbite Staff on Kiki-Jiki and then go nuts with the copying stuff. If a sac outlet like Phyrexian Altar is out then it gives you infinite copies, the Altar gives you infinite mana, and if Mana Echoes is out it makes you infinite colorless mana at an exponential rate. Other great combos involve Sundial of the Infinite and putting Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker's triggers on the stack at end step and exiling them to keep the tokens permanently.

  • Another hilarious combo involves copying Humble Defector with Kiki-Jiki and then drawing cards with the copy and donating it to an opponent. Then go to your endstep and Kiki-Jiki's delayed trigger attempts to resolve to make you sac the copy but you can't because you no longer control it. Then during your endstep, tap Homeward Path and regain control of the token (because it's owner is the person under whose control it entered the battlefield). You can do this over and over to populate humble defectors every turn and generate some huge card draw in a hilarious way.

THE BEST WINCON OF ALL TIME

HAVE A BAJILLION FUCKING TOKENS AND THINGS AND CAST Warp World TO FLIP YOUR ENTIRE DECK OVER AND WRECK YOUR OPPONENTS WITH 26 LIGHTNING BOLTS OFF OF Valakut, the Molten Pinnacle. THEN KILL THE ONE'S THAT REMAIN WITH Purphoros, God of the Forge IF THEY DIDN'T ALREADY DIE FROM YOUR DUDES ENTERING THE BATTLEFIELD WITH HIM.

The old name for the deck, Populate Mountains, comes from a time when I had Koth of the Hammer out and used his first ability to make a mountain a creature and then copied it with Kiki-Jiki. The copy stays a creature and a mountain permanently if you use Sundial of the Infinite on your end step with the delayed trigger on the stack, while the original mountain reverts to non-creature land at the end of your turn.

I don't like playing cards that just say "I win" when I play them. The whole point of playing EDH for me is to have interesting games that develop into complex board states. So where's the fun in playing a two card infinite combo where you have access to one of them as your general? It's much more appealing to me to populate my mountains and Humble Defectors and then use Homeward Path on the end step :). And then cast warp world with 50 tokens on the battlefield and randomly hit Valakut, the Molten Pinnacle and 20 mountains.

I've thought about that combo many times, and maybe in some future deck I would play it, but that's two slots that don't do any work with the rest of the deck so I can't use it.
